Funny story, when I was a kid I lived in "Countryside" an housing development out around 108th Ave and Wadsworth near Westminster Colorado,
and come to find out it was a similarly irradiated wasteland from secret vented steam! People had lost babies and all kinds of stuff before truth came out!
And when I lived there, --I actually played Wasteland(tm) the game! My favorite game ever!
Good times, and I have no cancxers yet, praise be unto the moste hhigh, knock on wood and all that.
Quoting: Wasteland(tm) #1 All Time 69669186 There was lots of experimental stuff going on and the accidents were kept under wraps. The So Cal 1959 incident I mentioned was the first at that site, but it wasn't the last. There were several more into the mid 1960s. No containment structures, just tin barns and sheds with reactors set up like Erector Sets. When something went wrong, the just said, Oh Shit! and looked for a backhoe to dig a hole and bury it. Future historians will wonder how any of us survived, with all of those 'experts' messing with things that shouldn't be messed with.
