Those chickens will clean out your garden. They eat lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and anything else tasty. Mine like the strawberry patch, but leave raspberries alone. You are not allowed to steal someones livestock period. Maybe tell them they are in your gardena nd damaged the tomatoes. then negotiate a price for a couple hens. You will have to build a pen for them or the garden will be damaged.
