I have used it before. Do not let the system pressurize. Click coolant/rad cap to first click, and check level every few days. This will make the "patch" last longer.

Yes. You want all of the air out, but like a pressure cooker, if it is not air tight, it will loose a bit. That is the trade off on the KW working longer. No pressurization in the cooling system is easier on the area the KW sealed. Thanks. How much time did you get before the gasket completely failed, or is it still running, and how many miles later?
