The first thing they basically did after they entered Syria was hand over all their weapons to Al-Nusra (Al-Qaida). Quoting: Alobe US-trained Division 30 rebels 'betrayed US and hand weapons over to al-Qaeda's affiliate in Syria' Pentagon-trained rebels are reported to have betrayed US and handed weapons over to Jabhat al-Nusra immediately after entering Syria Pentagon-trained rebels in Syria are reported to have betrayed their American backers and handed their weapons over to al-Qaeda in Syria immediately after re-entering the country. Fighters with Division 30, the “moderate” rebel division favoured by the United States, surrendered to the al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra, a raft of sources claimed on Monday night. Division 30 was the first faction whose fighters graduated from a US-led training programme in Turkey which aims to forge a force on the ground in Syria to fight against Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (Isil). A statement on Twitter by a man calling himself Abu Fahd al-Tunisi, a member of al-Qaeda’s local affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, read: "A strong slap for America... the new group from Division 30 that entered yesterday hands over all of its weapons to Jabhat al-Nusra after being granted safe passage. "They handed over a very large amount of ammunition and medium weaponry and a number of pick-ups." Abu Khattab al-Maqdisi, who also purports to be a Jabhat al-Nusra member, added that Division 30's commander, Anas Ibrahim Obaid, had explained to Jabhat al-Nusra's leaders that he had tricked the coalition because he needed weapons... [link to www.telegraph.co.uk] Edited to 50% This is the worst news the US could get. Their entire program of training Syrian rebels to fight ISIS has failed and backfired on them. 5* great thread Syrian rebels are not fighting ISIS, they are fighting Assad. ISIS is fighting Assad. Both are US assets (actually very same where members freely fluctuate from side to side as is needed atm), founded and supplied by US govt. directly or indirectly via Saudis, Turkey. There is nothing like "fight against ISIS" atm. In the 1980s, the symbol of Republican incompetence and mismanagement was the $600 toilet seat. Left out of the media coverage was the fact that the toilet seat was for a special kind of anti-submarine aircraft that had been out of production and needed special retrofitting. But forget all that. How does that compare to spending $100 million per non-bionic human soldier? “Despite some slow movement at the tactical level, we continue to make progress across the battlespace in support of the broader US government strategy to degrade and ultimately defeat [the Islamic State].” |

What did we expect? We are training so-called moderate rebels to fight alongside the Kurds against ISIS, but Obama won’t allow anyone loyal to Assad in the mix, so pickings are slim indeed. The few we have trained, immediately upon crossing the border into Syria, betray us and hand everything over to al Qaeda. Gee, I’m so shocked. This program was never serious – it is Kabuki theater. It’s a faux effort that never meant a damn thing. In the meantime, Russia and Assad are actually bombing the crap out of ISIS and making us look like the fools we are. This all feels orchestrated to me. |

They are not opening fighting Assad. Obama supposedly trained them to fight ISIS. Division 30 is/was a group of "moderate rebels", "Syrian opposition" or FSA. Choose as you wish. The only one purpose of FSA/so-called moderate rebels is overthrown Assad. Everything else is false as "rebels" themselves. Numbers of them are not even from Syria. And the same it is with ISIS. One of the highest commanders is US special forces trained soldier of the Georgian army known as al-Shishani. Another one, al-Salafi, was payd directly from the US. It is nothing more than one big army that was created to destabilize not even region, but every location in the world where it will be needed...
