I actually had the particulate filter removed and exhaust patched the dcu was tweaked no ignore the fact it had been removed.

Sailed though its annual check up last week - happy days and I keep to keep my unsaleable beast

They won't let you drive much longer, anyway.

Thats why the previous post regarding copying DCU settings is probably the way to go!!

i was listening to some NPR radio story about a guy that has one of the "dirty" ones and he says he is afraid to drive it until getting it fixed because of the pollution it makes

I bet the value will be higher than the modified ones.

Just wait a bit longer and you might get paid to take one away.......I'll try to pick up one for spares if they really drop massively in value

My biggest gripe with the whole fiasco is that it further tarnishes the image of small diesels in the US.

Subaru has a 2.0L turbo diesel that looks like a lot of fun but they don't sell them in the US because there's "no market".
