Air India proposes worlds longest flight...18 hours 8,000 miles...India to California..check out the route?

A straight line is always the shortest distance.....

Anyone choosing to fly Air India needs to seriously check out. Believe me...if you know what's good for you, you'll choose the 36 hour, 10 stop trip. Any company that parks a new Boeing 787 for over 9 months and a newer Boeing 777 for a few years, and uses them for spare parts, can be considered a psychotic flight line operation...amongst several other similar "best practices". I'll estimate a solid 10% completion factor on this route. The best of luck to those who choose to go.

Dude you need to understand some basic geography and navigation. Because of earth curvature and earth spinning beneath you there is no "straight line" from point A to point B.

Plus if they did have to divert; it would be easier to get the aircraft fixed in Europe or Eastern USA than in China.

They are sitting in moms basement sucking their thumbs.

Technology has progressed to a point that when they give you a drink in flight, you wouldn't need toilet for 24 hours and you wouldn't know what they gave you either.
