'Treasure trove' of original Apollo space photos released – all in one place

Project Apollo Archive, not directly affiliated with NASA, has released thousands of original images from the Apollo lunar program on Flickr.

For Kipp Teague, the timeless images that documented NASA’s Apollo lunar program bring back happy memories from his childhood.

And now, the founder of the Project Apollo Archive hopes that releasing a collection of unedited, black-and-white snapshots online will inspire a new generation of space enthusiasts.

“This is sort of a love of mine going back to my childhood when I grew up watching the Apollo missions and the excitement of man setting off for the moon,” Teague told the Star in a telephone interview on Monday.

“It’s just another opportunity to appreciate the space program and its history and what an achievement the Apollo program was.”

Teague launched the Project Apollo Archive in 1999.
