Anybody else here go into a gifted program or has a child in one?

A few posts above "Testing for psychic powers" and also, Come on, I hang out at GLP - I remember some large thread about some California "gifted" program from the 70s that people were apart of on GLP and they did some "crazy" things.. Every parent thinks their child is the greatest... I'm proud and hopeful she carries this "loving to read and do math" for a scholarship - Yet I don't want her to suddenly end up in a random building at the local State College to be tested at such a young age for these "abilities" As another person pointed above, also.
