I visited the Georgia Guidestones today - pics

Someone might have already axed, but my amateur guess was that is a Sony XL1 or XL2 video/camera, no?

I would have been equipped with big sunglasses, a hat and a plate cover before visiting this place.

Thanks for the updated pics. Looks like the stones have been cleaned of the resin damage from a few years back. I've never seen them in person but always wanted to. Thanks for stopping and taking some pics.

As far as the time capsule goes - there was never one ever buried according to an investigator who wrote an article maybe 6 or 7 years back (Randall Sullivan) for wired magazine. He interviewed all the people who were still available/alive.

Although he doesn't state in the article about the time capsule, I emailed him about the time capsule in 2010 and he actually replied to me.

I'm guessing the damage was cleaned up since then. Monitoring camera's were installed to help prevent further damage.

I stopped by there while on a business trip earlier this year, in May. There were a few people there already and shortly after I arrived three or four guys on motorcycles pulled in to check it out as well.

As I was heading to the guide stones I drove through the town of Hartwell and caught something out of the corner of my eye in front of a house. I thought "nah.. I didn't just see that..did I?" Turned around to get a picture..

Just a speculation-- Maybe Mr. 'R.C. Christian' is still alive and wants the BIG SURPRISE BOX opened some time after his passing. He seems to be very exacting in his instructions for the construction, so I assume he also left special instructions for the time capsule.

He did pick a very remote location. The traffic anywhere near Atlanta is a nightmare. If he wanted more attention he should've put a Confederate battle flag on top. CNN would cover it non-stop, hahaha.

and there's "33" I guess what is supposed to be stars on that nazi american looking flag lol!

It also didn't have a date saying when it was buried.

So was it buried at the time of the monument's creation? Or more recently? And who buried it, members of the county?

public time capsules should be illegal; this one is privately funded though so they can have at it.

They are not worried about a future civilization finding them.

The group that these people belong to would not only survive any cataclysm, but they would be the cause of it. And their religion espoused dimly in these stones would survive with them - hence, it is not intended to be found.

It is not for you and it is not for any random "survivors" to find. It is a glaring warning to the human cattle that the harvest approaches and you are not invited to the state room.

And you mention that it is situated with churches around it though at some distance. That should tell you something as well.

I think a couple yrs ago someone vandalized the stones with black spray paint. There might even be an old post about this on glp. Any who, I guess someone, at some point cleaned up the vandalized stones. Thx for posting.

Cops in more rural area always need some action. They often follow out of state plates. A cop can pull someone over for having an out of state plate, just because the plate is out of state, that's probable cause in most states.

You presume it is privately funded.

The truth is probably more complicated.

Maybe it's like when you send someone a parcel for Christmas, but you tell them and mark, "do not to open until the 25th". But we all know they open it as soon as it's delivered.

What if whomever wanted the time capsule to just be dug up? Then we'd all know what the truth is. Like you know, just some rich guy that had it built and erected, to fuck with us conspiracy and end of times religion believing types.
