At this point I would suspect that everybody that he potentially exposed to the virus are probably going to sue this person.
If he publically admits it now (especially that he's known that he was infected) will not only destroy his potential legal defense. But could also expose him to criminal charges. Also completely wipe out what is left of his career and leave him in a very disgraceful and negative light. Probably bankrupt him too..
