What's funny is none of the vets I know take these offers up.

My husband about bit my head off when I told him he could get lunch tomorrow for free, be good for him to take the baby.

Thanks. I usually get a list from mhicm but not this time, some Arbys and subways give free food, also not all places advertise so just ask. I could go for a steak or maybe Olive Garden. US Army Veteran.

I'm a Desert Storm veteran and I *expectI to receive these discounts and will not give my business to those who do not offer them.

Is your husband a war veteran? If so, he should have no problem taking up these offers, since he, like me , EARNED them.

However, I do have a problem with "peacetime" veterans and those who did not deploy to war getting these sorts of discounts and free meals -- only real veterans should be entitled to them.

Yes!!! On one of those links it said proper id with proof of being on the military (we know it means DD214).

Maybe because they know those places will be very crowded.

My son told me he's taking me out for breakfast today and I said, "Well at a few places, I'll eat free". He replied, "Mom, I'm not waiting for gours fir you to get a free meal, I willl rpay for hour breakfazt ".

However, 2 years ago I went to Applebee's with my husband and there were a few other vets there. When it came for them to give me my part of the meal free and my husband paid for the rest, it felt good. They all thanked me for my service.

We have 3 Golden Corrals here in So. Calif and there's always a huge long line out front on regular service hours. I can imagine today how long a wait it would take.

Hey, they took the oath and wore the uniform when you were in diapers.

They could have just as easily wound up fighting the Russians in Europe soaking up RADS.
