Here is an update (sort of) as of today with a little back and forth between Gomez and myself. I never did get a call back and they are closed now. I woke up to 2 missed calls from my doctor's office. I don't have voicemail set up on this phone so no messages. I went online to check if my blood results from yesterday were in and that maybe that was the reason for the call. Not only are all of the results in from yesterday, but I am now scheduled for 3 new appointments that I wasn't scheduled for yesterday. 12/2 Radiology 12/7 Pulmonology 12/7 Cardiology I also noticed that my visit summary from yesterday's appointment had a slight change. The copy I printed last night had a section called 'Visit Diagnoses' completely removed. Each prior visit summary had that section there and it said 'Erythrocytosis - Primary' underneath it. Again, the printed copy as of last night had that section completely removed. I printed the same visit summary just now (yesterday's visit summary) and that section is now back and says what it had previously said. Hmmmm....  Sounds like they are backtracking and taking another shot at an accurate diagnosis. Frustrating yes, but also good news. They haven't found a cancerous cause. For that I am very happy ! The other tests will rule out heart and lungs, the radiology is likely for a CT to check liver and spleen size. If the diagnosis remains Erythrocytosis - Primary hopefully they can fix it by letting some blood out. Blood tests come back with high HCT ?Yes...that's been high on all 3 CBC results (8/18, 10/5 and yesterday). My iron is pretty high out of range as well as my iron saturation. My homocysteine also came back high out of range. Vitamin B12 and Folate results both came back within normal range. Some other out of range (high and low) results on the CBC and Differential.  I called back the office and left a message. They close in about 40 minutes. Haven't gotten a call back yet. |
