John 20:18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her. 19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the J..., came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.


This passage is a great example of what it looks like to not have the Holy Spirit. Fear and doubt are just two things that shows what not having the Holy Spirit looks like . Sin is another , the Holy Spirit convicts and rebukes sin.


“John16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”

We are to forgive any trespass done to us as Jesus forgave. We want no part of sin when walking in the Spirit. The church was always to help show what sin is to the Lord. Jesus told them where to find and what gives peace in the middle of the war.

“ John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

This world gave Jesus and those disciples tribulation. Jesus told us before He returns the tribulation will be unlike any before. How do we not doubt , have no fear and find peace??? The same way Peter did through the Holy Spirit.

“John 20:29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. “

Thomas and the others saw , ate and learned from Jesus in human form. We have not seen Him as they saw Him. How do we see , feel and hear Him today???
A person that feeds as Peter did, the true word of God and does not tickle ears or please men.
A person that finds peace like Cori ten Boom in the middle of the war, “"You can never learn that Christ is all you need, until Christ is all you have."
A person that stays clear of all of the list in 2 Timothy 3,
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.”

We had to have the foundation Jesus left for Peter and the others. That same Holy Spirit left that day for the disciples is very present right now. Thomas was not there when Jesus breathed on them and he came in doubting.

“2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. “

We are in a sea of 2 Timothy 3 and each generation had to watch for those perilous times. We are in a sea of “ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of truth. “ We allowed generations to be taught without the Holy Spirit and expected things to work out. Turn away from anything and anyone not walking in the truth, teaching through the Holy Spirit.

Jesus came and left this message for every generation. We can not have peace , no fear or not doubt without the Holy Spirit. It was a 24/7 walk and a 24/7 war zone to fight 2 Timothy 3 creeping into our lives.

We went to sleep , rested and got comfortable when the battle never stopped. The tribulation continued and we compromised with the enemy. Jesus is very clear we had to follow His steps to over come the enemy of this world and have no part of his territory...Ready for tribulation was always the message.

Peace is found knowing He will return and end this war but until then , it was not easy for Peter and will not be easy for any till that day come...

The church changed the message and did not turn away from that list in 2 Timothy 3. The church thought it would be ok to learn without the Holy Spirit. The church under estimated the enemy and said we could hang out with the list in 2 Timothy 3. That did not work out but we were told it would not. The church compromised on who could teach, preach and be deacons. The Lord is calling those that will listen, have nothing to do with anything the Holy Spirit is not there rebuking sin, convicting the heart or teaching the truth...
