Ezekiel 20:33As I live, saith the Lord God, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. 35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. 36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord God. 37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: 38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the Lord. 39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols. 40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord God, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things. 41 I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen. 42 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. 43 And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed. 44 And ye shall know that I am the Lord when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord God.

Daniel 2:20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: 21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: 22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. 23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.

In the first part of Ezekiel 20 God recalls the disobedience of the people from the time in Egypt, the wilderness and then in their land, He is done with the old covenant. He tells them and us Jesus is coming to plead face to face and He will bring them into the bond of the new covenant, and He did.

We live in a time we no longer believe in the prayer Daniel said in Daniel 2. We take credit for kings and assume God would never allow a Nebuchadnezzar or Saul for our correction. Daniel is an amazing character , he saved a lot of bad people by asking God to help a bad king. We no longer have this mentality , we take things into our own hands ,even with violence and take credit for it like it is a good thing.
Every person that is of and trust the Spirit of God, is a Daniel understanding that prayer. God gathered His people and fulfilled Ezekiel 20 and they are found in the book of Matthew and Luke. Who were those that were found in the wilderness and knew Jesus was coming and waiting on Ezekiel 20 to happen ?
“ Luke 1: 5 Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.” John the Baptist , Mary , Joseph , Simeon , Anna, “Luke 23:50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: 51The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them; he was of Arimathaea, a city of the J...: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.” Those are just a few.

Evil to the Lord is to not be as Daniel was ,allowing God to be in charge and understanding Who is in charge of all matters from kings to dreams...
Evil to the Lord is to not be as Mary waiting on the Lord to fulfill Ezekiel 20. Jesus is coming again and we are being called to be Daniels or Mary.

Mary said this “1:46And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
51He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. 54 He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; 55As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.”
