It was somewhat popular, but not hugely so. (The game had a sort of "staged" release, so that not too many players would flood the new servers; and it was only around for 2 years anyway.) This isn't a joystick-based flight game (like Jumpgate was) and it isn't like Eve Online either... There is a decent amount of customization (such as to your ship) and there was (is) a decent amount of content to keep most players occupied for at least a few weeks (or months, if not more.) Some of the things that are in this game now, were -not- available during its EA-run lifespan. (It was supposed to undergo a gradual series of content updates, and this -does- appear to be happening here with this new community-driven release.) It's not very likely that a former player would think to check back up on this game without just accidentally stumbling into it again. It was worth $15 a month; it's definitely worth $0 now. Even for 2002, it still looks pretty good (my opinion.) I used to play with a group of at least 4 or so close friends regularly. The game wasn't as big as it is now (this community re-release has added stuff that was not there during the original lifespan.) I liked the ability to walk around the different space stations, and to be able to fly down to the surface of planets was a good concept, one that I wanted to see in other games! Players could reverse engineer items and take them apart, rebuilding them and making them better. The ship customizations were fun, and it was always a treat to repaint your spaceship every so often. I'll post updated instructions if there are any issues or peculiarities. Sorry, that message is no longer in the database. |

I loved that game. I wonder if its fully unlocked for free. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69346949 I sure miss starwars galaxies though. Old school style. From what I've looked over the game is 100 percent free and donations are donations, didn't see any perk options which is awesome. Could be a cash shop, I hope not lol |

It should be essentially "unlocked," and as far as I can tell, they are only collecting voluntary donations for server/hosting costs, nothing that is mandatory or expected. After installing the E&B Demo client, install their Net-7 Unified Installer and then run LaunchNet7 to patch the client (that might take a little while.) edit: Forgot to mention, run EnBConfig from the patcher/launcher program when done. Originally I gave TT (Terran Trader) a good run and then a TE (Terran Enforcer.) I had a lot of fun with the latter, but the game was a lot smaller then, too. Sadly, they wouldn't have had access to our old characters. That data would have went with the original company's shutdown. You'll have to recreate the legend. :) Last Edited by AkashicRecord® on 11/13/2015 10:03 AM Sorry, that message is no longer in the database. |

I like the superiority of the progen, but I like the morality of the jenquai more, even if their search of truth has become religious. I am not sure who to choose. |

Is it profitable to use more than one character? I am kind of a one trick pony kind of guy. Eggs in one basket, so to speak. |

There is a part when installing net 7 that asks you to patch the game and it will open up your index to find what you need to update, I just closed out of that and it seems to be fine, the game will patch when you boot up net 7 after you install it. |
