The Earth's Curve is about 8 inches per mile
Flat Earth Troll Buellmph educates GLP on Math.

Basic calculation of a curve...

If the earth is 7,917.5 miles in diameter, then the curve is 8" per mile, squared.

So 65 miles is 65*65*8 = 33,800 inches, /12 = 2,817 feet.

How the F**K is Chicago visible from 65 miles?

Wrong, its about 8 inches per mile.

8x65=520
520/12=43.333

About 4 stories worth of drop, of course you can see it.
