sun activity now~!

is this earth facing?
My religious point of view is something I can't talk about. It goes against my belief system to talk publicly about my own spiritual beliefs.

Re: sun activity now~!
I believe stereo-A is behind the Sun. It just began rebroadcasting in the middle of November. So the image may be of a CME moving away from Earth. The Emeral Spriral might tell you more about whether or not any CME will impact Earth.

I am certainly no expert either. I recommend Suspicious Observers for a more detailed, daily analysis. He puts up a new video everyday at 6am cst.

Here is today's issue:

Re: sun activity now~!
I found this on nascom.nasa site: The average distance from the Sun to the Earth is 150 million kilometers which can be written as 150 x 10^6 Km.

CME's can vary in speed. They can range from 200 km/s to 1000 km/s, although typically, most of them travel at about 424 km/s (Avg 1996-1998 speed St. Cyr et al., 2000).

Assuming that CME's don't accelerate or decelerate on their way from the Sun to the Earth, we can easily compute from the numbers given, the minimum travel time, the maximum travel time, as well as the average travel time.

time=distance/speed

So, the average time it would take a CME to get to the Earth is 98 hrs. At 1000 km/s, a CME would take 42 hrs, and at 200 km/s, a CME would take 208 hrs.

Reminds me when I put salsa & jalapenos on my combo plate and later that night I was unleashing the runs from behind and explosively blowing chunks out my mouth. At the same time.

It was rough, I'm tellin' ya.

It's actually a pinned thread tonight: Thread: Remember the space-themed online RPG "Earth & Beyond" ? // IT'S BACK ONLINE // --GLP Starfleet Assemble!--

It was an "old" game from 2002-03 (but still looks kinda good, IMHO). EA bought out the parent company and then trashed the game, leaving paying subscribers and fans drifting in dead space. Thirteen years later, a dedicated public resurrected it and recreated (reprogrammed) a fully-playable, free (as in cost) environment reusing the defunct game client and resources, in addition to releasing three extra classes that were unplayable during the game's original lifespan.

I'm playing it right now. :)

A full halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was detected earlier today (11/29/2015) leaving the farside of the sun. This was the result of a farsided filament eruption and is not expected to impact our planet. Attached video courtesy of STEREO Ahead and LASCO C3.
