LINCOLN, Nebraska — There are several reports of two police officer shot in Lincoln.
According to scanner reports, a suspect is dead. This is not confirmed.
The gunfire rang out during a traffic stop. The scene is at 2900 N 73rd Street in Lincoln.

Local newspaper confirms, listening to scanner, can confirm fire and rescue were in place to assist PD. They indicated PD was standing down and are doing same.

I got to witness this first hand. I live atb the corner of 56th and Adams so made the "white trash walk" down to see what was going on. Hundreds of people were gathered but they had it blocked off for a few blocks.

There were 25 police cars or so, but they are all leaving now. I watched 2 people get put into squad cars, maybe 45 minutes ago. Appeared to be a male and female.

One officer injured was a female but reports are she will be fine. I haven't heard about the other.

We had our first homicide of the year at 3 am today, then this.

I'm also in Lincoln. I didn't realize we'd had our first homicide.

Yeah, almost made it the whole year without one.

It was a drive by shooting just south of 48th and O at 3am.

LPD havent released details, but the mother of the victim posted about ot on Facebook.

Apparently the victim was a high school senior and she claims he was killed in a random drive by shooting while visiting with a friend. I think he is from Louisiana, not Lincoln.

1011 News is reporting 5 in custody now, but the Lincoln Journal Star still has 2.

I am too, this is the first I have heard about any of it.

Now that I think of it, I did notice a bunch of cops out,
all speeding in that direction. I didn't think much of it

I just don't know how to feel when local revenue agents get shot.
