Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center Evacuated Yesterday? | |

Senior Forum Moderator  User ID: 4211721  United States12/07/2015 10:31 AM  Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Some time before the Atlas V launch yesterday, KSC's visitor center was apparently evacuated due to a "water main break." I wasn't there myself, I was setting up my scope for tracking the launch elsewhere, but I had two different people mention it to me before the launch. The scope tends to draw a large crowd of onlookers. One said he had come from the visitor center where he had planned to watch the launch, but said they evacuated everyone. Another showed up later and claimed he heard alarms going off and they ushered everyone out to the parking lot. In his words, he "hoped it was only a water main issue." Just seems very strange to me that they would shut the entire thing down and potentially have to refund any money for special tickets to take the bus to see the launch, all over a water main issue at the main center. Any GLP'ers out there yesterday? Today their website mentions a water main issue but says most of the services are available today. [link to www.kennedyspacecenter.com (secure)]  |
