For me it sounds like, that he told his disciples (only), that they need swords, because in the end, when they capture/ arrest Jesus, they should use a sword... because it's part of Jesus' destiny:

Again, for me it doesn't sound like a general command and by the way you use this part I almost get the impression, I often get, when muslims, try to talk bad about the bible and Jesus, by using parts like these:

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."

Jesus told the apostles to buy swords.

The apostles ASKED Jesus if they should smite the evil men who came to arrest Jesus BEFORE Peter struck the servant.

This is a misrepresentation of the verse. The actual context here is that it was illegal for citizens to be armed and Jesus needed to be numbered "among the transgressors" to fulfill prophecy.
