Yes. We are still in first wave and it’s getting far worse and quickly.
With something like this, that is new to many, never before experienced to this extent globally, people have their own Superman syndrome where they think they are immune to its effects. They don’t listen before they blunder into danger.

I noticed in one of the links you left the other day was a Chinese person who said something like..

China has lost the Mandate of Heaven! The Goddess of the Yellow River is very angry!

If for discussion purposes, a dramatic flood does occur in China..will it be Man? Nature? God? or the Goddess of the Yellow River..that will take the blame in the history books, myths, and legends to come?
 Quoting: Seer777

fit into the context along with a load of other linear sequence stuff in a manner that will fit what we did

will it feel like that

Re: Mad World
There is no thrill in suicide. It is the exact opposite of a thrill. It is mental/physical/emotional/spiritual pain so soul sucking, that death is preferred to one more minute of that hopeless and abandoned sensation.

People who die seeking a thrill, weren't looking to die. They often just overestimated their chances of success.
 Quoting: Seer777

It is the theology of free will as in the context of suicide thrill means godless people have free will and no god to save them. I don’t agree with that philosophy lol
Sounds silly and triggering to susceptible people but did match what you were implying with the guy making a free will choice and the consequence that came after. He probably didn’t listen to himself when he made the choice that led to his death. As they say, there is no atheists in a fox hole. But when is too late and what can one not foresee is really something to question.

I agree people gambling choice weren’t looking to die.

Hope Grammy had a good day. My grandfather went to Iwo Jima but it was Guam where he learned first hand intuition to move out of a fox hole seconds before it exploded sky high. Lol

Yes, my other grandfather was mortally wounded fighting the nazis at the battle of the bulge and took over 22 months in hospital. He was the lone survivor of his whole platoon. If it didn’t snow that day, he would of bled out. He said not one word of his experience until he went back to the location to see that the people and the country was okay. And it was.

Have fun! Quirks like social distancing cupcakes makes for fond memories.
 Quoting: Coming Into Existence

Sounds terrifying. Glad he survived. I know why people choose not to talk about their trauma..

Thanks. It was fun. I got to see everyone and visit.

I asked my two nieces, 14 and 15, about American Girl dolls and the books, being I'm thinking of getting one for my niece for her next birthday.

They both told me they loved the books..and the dolls.

Sealed the deal for me. :)

That's the thing..I want to get her the smaller Wellie Wishers version that is made more for her age group. There is one that looks just like her..and I really want to get her that one. However, there are all these reviews about the ones that shipped over Christmas, came with a flaw that the leg breaks off. There are all these images of the doll with a broken leg and long reviews of mothers describing their daughters devastation.

The 18 inch version is twice as much and not recommended for a 6 year old.

So I ended up emailing the company today and they said they 'believe' the flaw has been fixed. I don't want to get her something she ends up loving, only to have the leg snap off.

I'm thinking I may still risk it though. The defective dolls were sold over Christmas..so they may have fixed the issue by now.

I'm sure I'll overthink it, for at least a few more days. lol. The books are a go though. They look really sweet. And I may just end up getting her the pricier version of the doll, so I don't have to worry about it breaking, and if she destroys it through play..so be it.

I asked them about that. They said they would replace the doll if it happens..but that doesn't really take away from the fact that it did happen.

Dolls have a special place and like a new goldfish..it is still not the SAME goldfish..if you know what I mean.

I'm thinking about getting her the Wellie boots and socks too. It rains a lot in Oregon. They sell a pair at the American Girl store that are transparent and then have cool socks to go underneath.

Fun stuff.

Yes. There is the American Girl doll hospital. Free shipping too. I think that is pretty great feature. I think they even fix their hair..

I just discovered them yesterday via an imgur post.

They have a bunch of historical girls..and people were calling them out as racist and the comments against were gold.

These are the book my nieces said they loved. But are recommended for older girls. Wellie Wishers are for younger girls.

I think so too. Rains a lot here. Rained this morning. lol

I love buying gifts. I'm good at it.

One time..about 18 years ago..I was at this outlet mall and saw this leather bag..and thought I have to buy this for my brother now!

So I did.

I gave it to him..and when he opened it he gasped..and looked up at me and said, You're a witch! This is exactly what I wanted!

My brother carried that bag for years. It got might worn and heavy.

It wasn't a fake gasp.

I got this for my nephew last year..which wasn't cheap. I've waited for years until he was close to old enough.

I think he looks just like Number 5 from Short Circuit. Plus he becomes 4 more things.

Waiting is difficult.

My niece is turning 6. I asked my older nieces, about the dolls and books..after I saw the imgur post yesterday, and discovered them. I have no kids and haven't been in a mall in far more than a decade.

My 14 y/o niece spent sometime arguing with her parents today, about how she spent $1800 on her hair last year..after I mentioned how it was back to her normal color..and I liked it.

Random thought I had the other day in regard to dams and floods..

Was the Biblical Flood myths, caused by the collapse of an ice dam left over from the prior Ice Age?

Seems reasonable.

Re: Mad World
"Australia is a massive continent but few people realise that more than 30% of its land mass was drowned by sea-level rise after the last ice age. This means that a huge amount of the archeological evidence documenting the lives of Aboriginal people is now underwater."

“It’s an extraordinary thing. We don’t find this in other places around the world. The sea being 120 metres lower and then coming up over the continental shelf, that happened in Africa, America, Asia and everywhere else. But it’s only in Australia that we’re finding this large canon of stories that are all faithfully telling the same thing.”
