Hillsong member, 34, who tweeted 'got 99 problems but a vax ain't one' dies after month-long battle with COVID-19 and final 'pray for me' message

He revealed on June 30 that he had been hospitalized with the virus and pneumonia and posted several photos of himself on a breathing machine.

In the days prior to his death, Harmon had been posting about how he was 'on max oxygen', 'struggling to function' and questioning whether he should go on a ventilator.

'Please pray y'all, they really want to intubate me and put me on a ventilator. even the slightest movements and my heart rate skyrockets and oxygen dependency increases. and please, I'm not asking for anyone's opinion on intubation, I'll make my own choice, I'm asking for prayer,' he said.

He followed up with: 'If you don't have faith that God can heal me over your stupid ventilator then keep the Hell out of my ICU room, there's no room in here for fear or lack of faith!' #ThingsIAmAboutToScream.'

His tragic final tweet, which was posted on Wednesday, revealed that he had decided to be intubated.

'I'm choosing to going under intubation, I've fought this thing as hard as I can but unfortunately it's reached a point of critical choice & as much as I hate having to do this I'd rather it be willingness than forced emergency procedure. Don't know when I'll wake up, please pray.'

I see the meme about Joel Olsteen's, Lambo was removed.

Just after I made this post..I spent 15 or so minutes imagining Joel being crucified in his gigantic foyer, just like the idol he used to make himself filthy rich.

When walking back into the house directly afterward, I looked on the TV screen and it was a crucifixion scene from the show, Vikings.

I took it as immediate feedback.

Here we are. Summer 2021 and I'm back in the saddle of a professional artist, 16 months after Covid restrictions shut us down.

It feels good to be back creating/selling again..and if one of the Covid variants shuts us down again..at least there will be a record that we were able to get back to it.

David Lynch's Dune - Very consciousness-alike and almost psychedelic film.

^ new Dune movie as impression upon on me based on the trailer you provided - sharp actions & story oriented. Will wait and see if that is so.

I still have a collection of Dune novels somewhere in basement. Not sure if I will come back and read some of it, depending on my interest / motivation to do so. Was gonna give it away to someone, but that didn't happen.

One of my roommates in college was a huge Sci-fi fan and turned me on to Dune and Logan's Run and such. That was when I was first starting my aquaria hobby and he took to that as well. Last I talked to him, he had been working in and planning opening an aquaria store. Not sure if that happened for him or not.

I still like to watch Dune and Logan's Run at least once a year.

area 51 is called dreamworld because it is our faster than light senses that form and support our dreams

light speed eyes are turned off and if our ears detect light speed noise. it takes us out of our dream

this is why the time we spend via experience in dream never matches the time we are asleep

5 minutes dream sleep is unlimited time of experience in dream environment

Sept. 11 2019

The maker of OxyContin will reportedly pay billions to settle opioid epidemic lawsuits

The deal is expected to be worth around $10 billion to $12 billion, including $3 billion from the Sackler family, according to the Post.

As of 2016, Purdue had made more than $31 billion in revenue from OxyContin.

Still, the settlement would be the largest payout from any company accused of fueling the opioid crisis, which has contributed to the more than 700,000 drug overdose deaths in the US since 1999.

[link to www.vox.com (secure)]

^

The real drug pushers were the doctors writing the prescriptions.

 Quoting: Seer777

REVEALED: Drug overdose deaths in the US increased nearly 30% and claimed a record 93,000 lives in 2020, partly driven by the proliferation of fentanyl on America's streets and the stress of the pandemic

Overdose deaths were mainly driven by opioids, which were responsible for 74%, or 69,710, of fatalities

.....

Prescription opioids and illicit drugs have become incredibly pervasive throughout the US, and things are only getting worse.

In the early 2000s, the FDA and CDC started to notice a steady increase in cases of opioid addiction and overdose. In 2013, they issued guidelines to curb addiction.

However, that same year - now regarded as the year the epidemic took hold - a CDC report revealed an unprecedented surge in rates of opioid addiction.

Overdose deaths are now the leading cause of death among young Americans - killing more in a year than were ever killed annually by HIV, gun violence or car crashes.

Imagine starting an epidemic that kills close to a million people in 20 years, Making 31 billion dollars in profit and then getting fined 3 billion for it.

A million deaths and walk away pocketing 28 billion.

Where's the justice? Because I don't see it.

Sackler family

In March 2021, Purdue Pharma filed a restructuring plan to dissolve itself and establish a new company dedicated to programs designed to combat the opioid crisis, according to court documents filed on 15 March 2021.

As part of the proposed plan, the Sackler family would agree to pay an additional US$4.2 billion over the next nine years to resolve various civil claims. However, this would amount to a "legal firewall" that would protect the Sackler family, such as making them immune from criminal prosecutions.

It was thus opposed by 24 state attorneys general as well as the attorney general for Washington, D.C. "If the Sacklers are allowed to use bankruptcy to escape the consequences of their actions," said the state AGs who called the proposal legally unprecedented, "it would be a roadmap for other powerful bad actors."

Long-Term Effects of Adderall Use

This represents an almost 40 percent rise in these prescriptions since 2007, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) states. ADHD is one of the most common childhood neurobiological disorders. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that as of July 2015, almost 10 percent, or close to 6 million, American children between the ages of 4 and 17 had been diagnosed with ADHD at some point in their lifetimes.

The risk of developing a stimulant addiction with prescription drugs, such as Adderall, is becoming more prevalent in the U.S.

...

Someone who is dependent on Adderall may have trouble sleeping and concentrating, notice a lack of motivation, and feel depressed, irritable, lethargic, or fatigued when it is removed from the body. Abusing amphetamines like Adderall may raise the risk of aggression and suicidal thoughts, according to ABC News. For someone who has been abusing Adderall for an extended period of time, the emotional aspect of withdrawal may be the most noticeable side effect. Natural production of dopamine is reduced, causing low moods and trouble feeling pleasure without the drug.

...

In some cases, Adderall and other prescription stimulants have been reported to cause psychosis and schizophrenia-like symptoms, such as paranoid delusions, hallucinations, and other behavioral or mood disturbances, according to the journal Molecular Psychiatry. Anxiety and panic attacks may also be triggered by long-term use of an amphetamine stimulant or during Adderall withdrawal. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, even prints warnings on Adderall labels about potential negative psychiatric side effects.

Re: Mad World
“Study Drug” Abuse by College Students: What You Need to Know

Approximately 2.5 million Americans are prescribed prescription stimulants such as Adderall or Ritalin to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD is a brain disorder that makes it difficult to concentrate and increases impulsive behavior. Prescription stimulants help to reduce these symptoms. However, many people use these drugs for non-medical purposes and without a prescription, especially college students who buy them from a friend with a prescription.

The use of drugs like Adderall and other so-called “study drugs” has skyrocketed over the past two decades. One reason is that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a version of the drug, Adderall XR, which lasts much longer than other prescription stimulants. Another reason is that more young Americans are diagnosed with ADHD and this results in more prescriptions. In fact, over the past decade, the manufacturing of prescription stimulants has increased by a whopping 9 million percent!

How many of these pills are used to treat ADHD? A study of more than 10,000 college students from across the country found that more than half of students with an Adderall or other ADHD drug prescription were asked to sell the medication to peers and friends. Almost every student who abuses these drugs in college gets the drug from a friend or classmate with ADHD.

One study of students at Bates College, a small Maine liberal arts college, found that one in every three students had abused Adderall at some point. In contrast, a national study of 10,000 students found that approximately 7% had abused “study drugs,” although the percentage varied at different colleges. Whether the typical abuse rate is 7% or 33%, or something in between, the extent of the problem is alarming

Afternoon, Seer.

"Philosophy on Determinism and In-Determinism?", a diagram by myself.
link: [link to ibb.co (secure)]

On the diagram, there are three different configurations of philosophy on determinism and in-determinism; determinism, in-determinism, and both.

I'm a bit struck on the 'both' part; is there such as how do two incompatible concepts meet at a focal point and be resolved or converted into either determinism or in-determinism? That is what I'm trying to think about and / or want to know the answer to. In past, I mentioned adaptive semi-determinism (or ASD) which was my attempt to answer that.

Unfortunately, the ASD was mixed up and confusing even to me even to this day. I already made a thread, "Ghost Mechanism", on here and elsewhere. It is starting to look quite different from determinism and in-determinism thing, it is more related to natural mechanism of things (how things grow, age, decay, etc). Kinda obviously different from philosophy.

Anyway, I just thought you might be interested in checking out the diagram. I welcome any feedback suggestion or something like that.

Good morning.

Maybe try to see it like the two lobes of the brain competing to resolve cognitive dissonance, when holding two competing concepts.

Determinism makes me feel boxed in and subject to an unchanging environment. Like watching/playing out a movie or script. Last time I was caught up in it, I watched a bunch of these videos. Recommend.

Having never taken Ritalin or Adderall, these videos give me a window into what it is like.

I never used a stimulant more powerful than coffee for studying..nor ever considered buying a study stimulant. Never pulled all-nighters, nor did I ever cheat on tests or otherwise. I was also not an A student in college and found it mostly boring, with forced curriculum that was more tedium than instructive or enlightening.

My anthropology classes were probably the most interesting of the bunch.
