Yup, Superman took some seconds to assess this Earth then left.

He thought to himself: "Why bother help and do never-ending battle when humanity recycles history?"

Superman is probably busy getting stoned and hanging out with other Justice League members somewhere in DC universe. That is, if multiverse theory holds.

Re: Mad World
Umwelt

In the semiotic theories of Jakob von Uexküll and Thomas A. Sebeok, umwelt (plural: umwelten; from the German Umwelt meaning "environment" or "surroundings") is the "biological foundations that lie at the very epicenter of the study of both communication and signification in the human [and non-human] animal".

The term is usually translated as "self-centered world".

Uexküll theorised that organisms can have different umwelten, even though they share the same environment. The term umwelt, together with companion terms Umgebung (an Umwelt as seen by another observer) and Innenwelt (the mapping of the self to the world of objects), have special relevance for cognitive philosophers, roboticists and cyberneticians, since they offer a solution to the conundrum of the infinite regress of the Cartesian Theater.

In the documentary, Waiting for Superman, one of the teachers mentions how devastating it was for him to find out as a child that Superman didn't exist.

I saw someone say once..if you go around acting like Jesus, expect to get crucified. People enjoy pointing out other peoples flaws but hate to have their own on display.

There is also a fine line between helping and hurting.

In the Bronx Tale he mentions to C that he doesn't 'give his men so much they don't need him, but also doesn't give them too little, that they hate him'.

The balance.

Tendency toward an equilibrium or balance.

Think of that like a frequency line. As balance the line is straight line that is fundamental. When things get crazy or boring (wavelengths & amplitudes), it (frequency line) becomes either high or low. Eventually when things settle down / up to neutral level, it flattens into a straight line.

Equilibrium or balance between things / people. Harmony in a sense.

But though, don't become Thanos. lol

Kevin Warwick

Kevin Warwick is a British scientist and professor of cybernetics with such a fascination with for robots, that he's endeavoring to be the first man ever to become a cyborg.

On 1998, a simple RFID transmitter was implanted beneath Warwick's skin, and used to control doors, lights, heaters, and other computer-controlled devices based on his proximity. The main purpose of this experiment was said to be to test the limits of what the body would accept, and how easy it would be to receive a meaningful signal from the chip.

On 2002, a more complex neural interface was implanted on his nervous system, getting access to his nervous signals. The experiment proved so successful, that the signal produced was detailed enough for a robot arm to mimic the actions of Warwick's own arm.

Later, a highly publicised extension to the experiment, in which a simpler array was implanted into Warwick's wife—with the aim of creating a form of telepathy or empathy using the Internet to communicate the signal from afar—was also successful, resulting in the first purely electronic communication experiment between the nervous systems of two humans.

His experiments are still ongoing.

This is how telepathy works. It is a system of vibration and waves and pressure that have discernible meaning through the wave pattern. But it takes practice.

Re: Mad World
What about head pings or rings?

My thinking = unsure since not yet proved or disproved.

My feeling = could be attributed to a form of telepathy; some kind of acknowledgement in my case. Also, I could describe pings / rings' sensation almost as if these were instantly vibration in my head. I differentiate it from short to long vibration which is a bit more common for me.

Often, I received one instance of ping / ring not long after posting certain posts or chats almost if correspond to someone or an entity acknowledging these.

Less common was multiple pings / rings in a given time as if received from more than one person or entity.

Or maybe I'm using 'pings' / 'rings' as wrong words?

Pings are very short. Think of a bronze bowl or bell. Think of flicking the bowl once with a finger. If you were to hold your hands very close to the bowl, barely touching it, you can feel the vibration of the 'ping'.

A ring is longer. Like a phone ring. Telepathy is far more than pings and rings.

Woah. Kind of cool to realize possibilities with the vest.

What about translation of multiple sources of sound at a given time? How would the vest resolve that? I'm sure they probably already anticipated and / or are working on that.

That's what hearing is. You hear sounds all over, all the time coming from multiple directions and distances. Even now wearing my noise canceling headphones, I can hear the sounds in the background that are louder than my headphones capacity to drown it out..

Like the blender. Or the silverware drawer being opened. The refrigerator being open and shut. The cheese bag being opened..and so on. If I start a song or the video, it will drown out all that background noise.

It just becomes background noise. He explains it better in the second vid I posted and takes questions after.

The energy enhances vibration(s) such that at one point I could feel the vibration of the fly hitting the window across from me.

Telepathy is felt. Not heard.

Re: Mad World
Yes and it's amazing.

I think that is why we dance with it. Deaf people can still feel vibrations..

Deaf People Can "Feel" Music

Dean Shibata, MD, found that deaf people are able to sense vibrations in the same part of the brain that others use for hearing. Shibata was at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York at the time of the study.

He studied 10 students with profound hearing loss from birth and compared them to 11 hearing people. Each person was asked to tell the researchers when they were able to detect a vibrating pipe in their hand. At the same time, brain scans were done to pick up signals being transmitted to the brain.

Shibata found that when the deaf people felt the vibrations, areas in the brain that are usually responsible for hearing showed activity.

Re: Mad World
I think Helen Keller would have liked having the vest.

One time other students and I visited a drama stage, it was a story about her, Helen Keller. I still remember the powerful moment when two actresses (Keller and Sullivan) performed, Sullivan trying to teach Keller the water sign, and then Keller finally understood.

"Keller's breakthrough in communication came the next month when she realized that the motions her teacher was making on the palm of her hand, while running cool water over her other hand, symbolized the idea of "water". Writing in her autobiography, The Story of My Life, Keller recalled the moment: "I stood still, my whole attention fixed upon the motions of her fingers. Suddenly I felt a misty consciousness as of something forgotten — a thrill of returning thought; and somehow the mystery of language was revealed to me. I knew then that w-a-t-e-r meant the wonderful cool something that was flowing over my hand. The living word awakened my soul, gave it light, hope, set it free!"[15] Keller then nearly exhausted Sullivan, demanding the names of all the other familiar objects in her world."

That was my first thought too when I saw it on the deaf/blind baby. It makes sense.

He has a wristband as well. That if I understand correctly, basically does the same thing as the vest, on a smaller area of skin.

If he can get the vibrations to move like waves..then it should work very well.

New device helps hearing-impaired feel sounds in their environment

What would it be like if you could feel sounds like doorbells ringing, alarm clocks buzzing, and water faucets accidentally left dripping?

A new device that turns sound into dynamic patterns of vibrations does just that, and it's helping those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing access vital information in a unique way. Neosensory Buzz, a wearable device resembling a wristwatch, mimics the ear’s cochlea by sending vibrations via the nervous system to the brain, effectively creating another sensory channel to the brain’s auditory processing center. (It can be worn by people who don't have hearing loss, too.)

Adjustable settings via smartphone app Buzz can be programmed to user preference using three different modes:

Everyday mode adjusts to the user’s surroundings, canceling out unnecessary background noise.

Sleep mode filters out sounds like snoring while still alerting the user to emergency sounds such as sirens or smoke alarms

Music mode allows users to feel the pulse of the beat along with nuances of the melody.
