I only had to cover my eyes a few times last night for episode 3 and not because of violence. Quoting: Seer777 To each their own. I enjoyed the story and even cried a little toward the end. I began last night. It is good. :) Damn shadowfruit. A lot of people were upset about the episode and felt led on or even trolled into watching a love story between 2 men. One of which is a prepper and hates the 'NWO'. It does kinda seem like a troll of preppers a little. NGL. A little bit like Far Cry 5 was a parody of rightwing cults. I've watched it and now have full context. I suppose that first kiss might've come out of nowhere for some. Though I had a heads up on it, I think there was a few signs in the couple minutes leading up to it. As for the 'trolling' of preppers, was it? That guy had everything he needed, they were entirely self sufficient. No one else seemed to have survived in the area and they were living a very good life with no want for anything. In fact the only thing he didn't have was company and someone to care for/be cared for by, which the story explored quite a bit. Hell, it even showed that where he was lacking, by participating in trade with people (after vetting them) both could benefit. I won't get in to the details of the final part but that seemed to show exactly that. They both lived a full life, none of which was possible without his prep work. Maybe I interpreted differently, I do that sometimes to the horror and dismay of some folks. :D Not a bad episode really. Makes for a hostile environment and that isn’t my intention. Probably for the best. I went to the factory stores earlier. I had my first boba tea and mochi candy. I was obsessed with Kiki's delivery service as a kid. I've always appreciated how Japan culturally treats the idea of magick and entities. They don't have the same history as the western world with the idea of satanism - their "devils" are not evil, they are just hostile/dangerous. And magick isn't evil to them - never has been. So they write stories with different undertones to them. Studio Ghibli I think is a very safe and healthy introduction simply to the idea that magic can imply wonder instead of demonic evil. I think this idea of demonic evil and the extremist attitude that comes with it...is not dissimilar to the way the entire country right now is being pitted against each other. One side is good, one side is evil. There is no grey. It is the inheritance of a highly Manichean, dualistic, extremist world. Of course - Japan DEFINATELY has its own issues. The youth suicide rates are the highest in the world. But, as far as their problems go...spirituality and witch burning isn't one of them. Your first boba tea and mochi! Did you enjoy it? I absolutely love boba. Mochi, is my favorite when frozen, with a bit of ice cream. Really a treat I did yeah. I asked the girl for the basic boba milk tea she had. She said it wasn’t even on the menu anymore. All fruit flavors. Do you get the black boba or the fruity bursting ones? I’m trying that next. I’m on the hunt for new things I can add to my day, now that I’ve stopped drinking alcohol. The mochi came in a bag and individually wrapped. The ones I saw on YouTube look a lot bigger and multilayered. The texture is super weird..like a strawberry flavored earlobe. After the second one..it grew on me. Look like these ones kinda. Seems a bit better. I think it is an issue with Flash or Safari. I have a few more things I can try if it persists. Everything thawed out down there? Look out for broken but still partly attached branches that can fall on you. We call those widow-makers. I’m back in the valley. Settling back in. Feeling cozy. everything is thawed. I heard a quote from someone recently... "if you don't like the weather in texas, wait a day. it'll change". sort of true. yes, I drove around with my sis and nephew today. broken and split trees literally everywhere. It's rather sad. have you seen the "great british baking show: the professionals" yet? I have so many baking shows to watch now. it's cozy |
