I had a recurring dream for about 10 years involving my former Purdue college campus. I would wander through the dormitory, seeking a door I knew not how to identify. Then I would be spontaneously outside, meandering around until I happened upon a group of people. I would recognize one and smile. Then I would wake.

The last iteration of it, which took place around 2013 was when it became different, and instead of seeking a door in the hallways, I was wielding two blades, an opponent at the other end as well doing so. The point of the duel was to disarm, not to kill. I won, looked down, and for the first time ever saw a part of myself within a dreamscape, my hands covered in the blood of my opponent. Tremor set in, and the blade I still held crashed down, and I woke with the feeling of regret that it required harm to another to secure a boundary.

I don't have blue eyes, but my deceased deafcat did. For the record.
