The Simpsons is reference-based humor. If you don''t get the reference, you don't get the joke.
Just like the Billy beer joke I didn't understand until I looked it up yesterday.
Point being, the angel statue found yesterday was ripped straight from the Lisa the Skeptic episode and I wouldn't surprised if it does end up being an advertisement for something.
Maybe a movie.
