Once again...First of all, Daesh is the acronym for the arabic "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" ([Dawla al-Islamaya fi al-Iraq wa al-Sham). Daesh takes away their legitimacy for not using the words "Islamic State" - that's one reason they hate it. Secondly, we have a couple words in arabic that sound similar and we imply for example Daes which means someone who tramples over someone or Dahes which means someone who causes differences and fights amongst people.

Lets say you have a place called in the West "Free United Girls Home" and then you use the acronym - FUGH - ok, it's not spelled like the bad word, but if you read it I'm sure you smile, also if you say it you will. I'm sure these Girls will not like it if you use FUGH. Same with the word Daesh, although it's spelled/pronounced different, it still implies bad meanings and that's why they're pissed when we use it.

We're making fun of the demented group called Daesh only!

Free speech includes politics and religion.

Any of the things on this thread could easily be used by any comedian.
