A Middle-Class American in King Obama's court

A tale inspired by the article: “The Earth will go dark for eight days in December 2015” by Mr. William Tell and “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's court” by Mr. Mark Twain
For my Lord, love of puzzles and logistical analysis.
Our story opens in the dark and troubled land. The people burdened with taxes and laws passed by the king, that takes away their very freedoms, money and will to continue. The king and his court plotted and planned “We can take no more from the people. We can get no more money, no more obedience without them rising up. How tell me how, can we overcome this.
The Kings wizard rises and says “Oh your highness, why do we not simply use our secret and ancient knowledge against them.”
The king inquires sarcastically, “What do you mean wizard.” What I mean your highness, is the ancient knowledge in our books. It is written that due to the alignment of Jupiter and Venus a Cloud will form and darken the sun. This will make the earth dark and very cold. How will this help us? It is already written in the book of the people that the sun will darken for three days. The people already know this.
Yes your highness, we simply do not warn the people when it will occur even though we know. We will let it occur. We will put in their minds that this is the time of the end. However we will tell them to remain calm. The people will still panic. Most will do whatever we ask just from fear.
Before this time, we position knights all around the kingdom to lay in wait. Those that panic and are evil at heart will give us just cause to call out the Knights and soldiers.
They will take more of the people’s weapons and food. With cunning have them whisper “Have belief that the king will save you.” When the time comes our soldiers emerge. Tell the people that they are there to help. All is well.
With this transpired we will reference the people’s book. That maybe these are the three days spoken of by their Lord. However we shall continue to spread in secret, as to not arouse suspicion.
But when the three days have transpired wizard, and the sun shine again the people will not be willing to submit. They will not give up their swords and arms.
Ah, yes your highness, but what the people do not know is that the sun will not darken for three days. It will darken for eight. Our knowledge is greater. It is
written in their book, God has said not one word of their book shall be changed. But our master, being the trickster that he is, like any good lawyer found his hole. Over time he has not changed one word. However a number is not a word.
We know from our ancient books, that the sun will not darken for three days but for eight. And after the third day passes we shall have the people believe that only you can save them. They must obey you.
On the third day the people will panic even more greatly and in the chaos we will take even more.
We will say “We do not know what this evil is” but the king has tasked his best wizards and great scholars to find a solution.
Oh but the death and horrors are too much. The king now orders you give up your weapons, that he must do this to stop the horror. We will give the people chits for their weapons, to give every appearance that they will be returned to the people when all is done.
This will disarm even more. Then we will tell them, your majesty, that you the king has found magic to send chariots into the stars with weapons of unbelievable power. And that these weapons can be used upon the sun. They will relight the sun as like a candle or a torch.
During this we will then call upon our magicians and our entertainers. To create illusions and tell of the great deeds, the king is doing to save his people. That king has decried, “We are taking on a great task that we will go to the sun and light it again so it may shine upon the people once again.”
During this time we will tighten our grasp just a little more, like the Python slowly choking its prey. After the fifth day has passed, the people will be in a total panic. Evil will be everywhere, it will be cold and bitter. It will only be alleviated by the fires of the burning homes and countryside. We will tell the people that drastic measures must be taken for their protection. We will then take the weapons by force, from the remnant left.
The eighth day the cloud will pass and we will proclaim the King has done it. The king and his men have saved us. The people, in their hearts, will have a great faith and joy. They will give you even more.
The king with great joy said “Make it so”. Let us begin this great deseption. He told his generals to send his soldiers out. Hide them in the hillside in the countryside's. Hide them upon the sea and the mountaintops. Hide them everywhere. Prepare when that day is at hand we will strike.
I hope you enjoyed my little tail and remember it's just a story.
