Gunmen opens fire on DeKalb County deputy's home

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —

A DeKalb County sheriff’s deputy says he scrambled for cover when someone started firing gunshots into his house late Tuesday night.

Police are trying to figure out why someone opened fire on the home, firing at least seven shots.

“We heard something; boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,” said neighbor Shirley Jackson.

“(It) sounded like an AK,” said another neighbor.

Five bullets hit the deputies’ garage, one hit his marked SUV and another hit a window of the home right where the deputy was sitting.
