At some point recently, I realized what a waste it is to concern myself with how I will be remembered/how many people would show up.

Many of the most corrupt individuals had huge funerals. Does that change what kind of life they lived?

You could spend your energy only spreading kindness and enjoying moments without needing to manipulate others time and energy towards you.... and possibly not many people would attend your funeral. If you understand we are all connected as consciousness and awareness you soon realize that nothing matters as much as an internal connection to the source/creator.

Being remembered for 50 years might not be all that important when you come right down to it.

When I experienced my 'awakening' I quickly recognized that having a large funeral attendance matters about as much as having a ton of Facebook friends. Really, none of those 'outside' sources amount to much.

Living your truth and standing up for what is in line with truth... and the rest need not be of our concern.

Youre forgrtting the fact that were created with all these flaws. Can't beat genetics. Not yet. Maybe ever. Our DNA remrmbers.

I have a collection of cups, or mugs, that have belonged to many of the people I have been close to in my life. Parents, housemates, other friends who have died. When I drink from them, I remember being with them. There are also traditions or recipes that my grandmothers did that I try to continue. It is my way of honoring the love they shared and is handed down within the family.

I try to live respecting those that came before me. I owe my comfortable life to the forefathers that came before me. I use their tools to maintain and improve my 100 y.o. Home.

Enjoy life....yes...live life for yourself...NO

That is what is wrong with this world is we live for ourselves and treat others like dirt.

The Parable of the Sheep and Goats is part of the Olivet Discourse. It is found in Matthew 25:31-46. A parable is a short, simple story of comparison. Jesus used parables to teach spiritual truths by means of earthly situations.

Jesus begins the parable by saying it concerns His return in glory to set up His kingdom (verse 31). Therefore, the setting of this event is at the beginning of the millennium, after the tribulation. All those on earth at that time will be brought before the Lord, and He will separate them “as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left” (verses 32-33).

The sheep on Jesus’ right hand are blessed by God the Father and given an inheritance. The reason is stated: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me” (verses 35-36). The righteous will not understand: when did they see Jesus in such a pitiful condition and help Him? “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’” (verses 39-40).

The goats on Jesus’ left hand are cursed with eternal hell-fire, “prepared for the devil and his angels” (verse 41). The reason is given: they had opportunity to minister to the Lord, but they did nothing (verses 42-43). The damned ask, “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?” (verse 44). Jesus replies, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me” (verse 45).

Jesus then ends the discourse with a contrast: “They will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life” (verse 46).

It doesn't bother me that I won't be remembered. I have my faith in God, and a wonderful husband who is still deeply in love with me after 29 years together. I've got both the afterlife and the here and now covered. That's all I need. :)

This is why you should live for yourself and make yourself happy.

All the people I love are not forgotten, it is those things I cherish, for all of them are a part of you. You are a part of everyone, good or bad, so be remember for the love you gave or just the good time and the memories, love is so important that is The Love of God, his way, not the way of man. To Love is not boastful, or what you own, not your money or things, but your heart that sings out I LOVE YOU.

All this worry about what happens after life, but no concern about all the time before you you lived.....were you still not alive?

To me it does kinda bother me that I will fade from peoples memories. A lot of work and love have gone toward building family memories, and to know that in 50 to 75 years no one that knew me will be alive either. Forever irrelevant.

It's all good. We are eternal. Trust Jesus. Remember. That doesn't apply to the eternal.

You will all be in heaven watching replays of your lives forever there for anyone to see. :)

Ok, got that, I just would like a screening. Is that to much to ask of a place I am going to live forever? At least a short preview, I might not like it.

Exactly. Last week I was visiting a local cemetery and as I walked through and noticed headstones from 75 or 100 years ago I thought, "They should dig these up and make room for new bodies, 'cuz nobody is visiting THESE graves anymore."

Even the really old people living don't remember them.

Funerals are a great place to meet new people :P

I heard that when you are face to face with death your life passes before your eyes. I guess that would be your screening. :)
