But I think you can tell most of my views from end times are based on an alternative perspective - as are others.

So it shouldn't surprise you that I don't believe Antiochus is the one who defiles the temple; which is mostly based on this passage in 2 thes 2:

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

And based on Jesus in Mathew 24,

and I am paraphrasing this:

When you SEE "evil one" STAND in the holy place...(spoken of by Daniel the prophet)

and If you are in a field or on a rooftop and you SEE him in the holy place - FLEE

This is not an anticipated event.

And my question always has been - how does one SEE anyone in the temple from a field or rooftop without a mobile device?

Jesus said when you HEAR of rumours of war, wars, its not end times

Luke 21 and Mathew 24 - when you SEE and KNOW All these things - it's end times.

Those things are earthquakes, disease, famine in diverse places. Only today is this possible with the internet.

I'm basing this on Jesus communicating to us that he's using our senses to give us insight into when the end of the world will be.

Actually, the Greek of Mat. 24:15 has "the abomination of desolation", and "abomination" is a neuter noun (it). It doesn't say that the "evil one" himself will stand there, only that he will declare himself God. Antiochus put an idol on the altar in the holiest place in the temple. So there are two elements in this: the idol, and the one declaring himself God.

But this was hundreds of years before Jesus, so Jesus was saying this would happen again in the future. Many prophecies have more than one fulfillment.

Agree that the "hearing" is not yet the end, and that the "seeing" is the end. Actually, when people "begin to see all these things", they are to look up "for your redemption is near".

But even if you are in Judea - you wouldn't SEE the evil one in the temple, from a roof and field.

The holy place in the temple is only for priests. Not worshipers.

Jesus is giving us 2 perspectives - up high and down low.

So - if you are in a field - say a few miles away, how would you SEE him?

It's not a big issue; the people who are in Judea when this happens will see it, one way or another. What matters is that we understand this command to flee is for that specific group of people, at that specific point in time.

What I think here is anyone worldwide who sees him in the temple - should tweet anyone they know, or post it anywhere people in Israel will see it - so they can get out of Judea before the slaughter begins.

Here's the thing though OP. It is widely believed that warfare and the deaths from warfare are on the rise because it is so much more widely covered in the media. It's all over YouTube and its in the news the moment it happens. However, if you look at the statistics and compare today to the last 100-200 years warfare and deaths related to warfare have experienced a massive decline. Many wars of the past were all out. They targeted civilians and were indiscriminate in the killings.

Now we have smart bombs and leaders that are restrained politically from taking these actions. So, the wars we are seeing today are much more limited with much less death than in the past. Most of these "wars" that we are seeing today are probably better described as skirmishes or conflicts if you compare them to wars of the past. Also, the total number of wars has been reduced significantly. Do the research and you will come to this conclusion because the statistics are there. So, it is not all gloom and doom and I don't really see how anyone could claim that this is the end times because of modern conflicts. We should look on the bright side. Over time, less people are fighting and dying in wars.

And on the change of environment, this is all related to global warming alarmism. It's all political. These scientists act like they are not biased and they are just practicing science. But they are only human and they are working with data that needs to be interpreted. Most of these scientists are incredibly liberal save the environment types so what conclusions will they come to? They all want to be in the mainstream too. None of them want to be a kook.

But you must realize that the global warming nonsense was mostly started and promoted by politicians for their own aims. Didn't Al Gore claim that by now the sea levels would rise and flood the coasts of the U.S. and there would be just unbelievable destruction by now? He starred in his goofy video like 10 years ago and barely anything has happened. You know why nothing substantial has happened? It's because he is full of shit. They are all full of shit.

There have always been natural disasters and they are scary. They might even be on the rise. But it's not even close to the end of the world type shit. And could it be that the rise in earthquakes and other natural disasters is not an actual rise but the rise is due to our increasing technology and people improving their skills in measuring and documenting them? Many disasters probably happened or almost happened in the past and were never recorded because we didn't even know they were occurring.

What he did say was - nation would rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom. Here's a short list of countries who were rising against each other - until lately where they are coming to agreements on a global world order - that will evolve into a NEW WORLD ORDER:

China south seas operation - involves conflict all countries in south seas i.e. indonesia, japan, australia, usa et al.

North Korea vs South Korea; Africa - a ton of groups against each other and blacks against white; boko haram slaughtering people; Middle east ISIS and other jihadists against SAA, Turkey against PKK, in Syria, Iran. Russia, China,, Iran solidly against US until lately with potential cease fire (excluding antarctica ops). Pakistan and Indonesia constantly fighting. Saudis massacring Yemenis. Lots more, but won't go on.

If this isn't nation against nation - I don't know what is.

People for 2000 years have been incorrectly saying Jesus would return.

You couldn't see something happening on the other side of the world - this passage below (KJV) makes no sense to anyone living in Jesus time. Only we today can understand the technology it takes for this to happen:

This says other people from other nations will SEE their dead bodies in the street.

The tech didn't exist for people to be in a FIELD or someone on a ROOF and both simultaneously seeing something they should act on i.e. the antichrist STANDING in the temple.

Well, the technology now exists for the rest of these prophecies to come true.
