...In Daniel 8 the Ram (persia-Iran) is obliterated before the little horn makes his appearance. This hasn't happened yet. Some may disagree. However, the angel makes it clear this vision is for end times & also in his interpretation he tells us the babylon he is talking about is in the future; Not the babylon of the present. Dan 8: 7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. Chapter 7 - As a little horn that rules the very last kingdom on this earth. Chapter 8 - he only succeeds in ascending to leadership after the goat destroys a 'great' Iran and it's horn is broken into 4 separate entities. It's clear Iran is still gaining influence in the Middle East, but hasn't achieved greatness yet. Therefore the antichrist is most likely a little horn whose identity is still unknown...This is from discussion last "all prophecies" thread I would like to look at this verse in Daniel 8 from another angle: 5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: Perhaps this is not military might, but the US led sanctions imposed on Iran over the years. We know the sanctions created an economic hardship for Iran, and some believe Iran would have faced economic collapse had they continued.
