We have to learn more about the beast and where he originated from.
To do this we need to start at Daniel 2.
Here we have a large statue that represents all the empires up to and including the beasts'.
I won't go into Daniel 2, but will merely specify that this beast is the feet of the statue with 10 toes.
The feet we are told are the last kingdom on this earth.
Most bible experts agree the feet are and extension of the Roman empire - portrayed as the legs on the statue (Daniel 2).
From this verse in Daniel many extrapolate that the feet are a revival of the Roman empire:
Daniel 9:26 and the people of the prince that
shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary
Meaning - the
people of the prince WHO IS TO COME, are the Roman people, therefore, the prince who is to come will be Roman.
So now we've answered the first part of this verse:

The beast that was - was the Roman empire and the beast that is not (Roman empire no longer in existence, as it was when the temple was destroyed in 70AD).
There are many who believe it's the Ottoman Empire. However, it didn't exist until many centuries later. Besides there's been no temple since 70AD.

That's what is troubling. God has murdered millions of people throughout the OLD TESTAMENT, mostly his chosen ones the house of 12 tribe Israel.
He used Nebuchadnezzar wo he called his "servant" to butcher thousands of his people that were being bad as stiffnecked.
Then he kills his servant Nebuchadnezzar afterwards. I got a news flash how about killing and murdering people yourself? You got famine, disease, pestilence, and your Angels to kill for you so WTF make or entice man to do your evil deeds for you?
I mean don't they have enough sins weighing on top of their own heads by their own deeds? But noooo you enlist them to do your dirty work which puts them into even deeper levels of Hellfire. Odd.
Remember Aaron who was Moses real brother? Well God YHVH murdered his 2 sons who were even priests. Right from the Ark he killed em with some kind of energy beam.
Poor Aaron was not even allowed to mourn in the typical fashion of that era by renting (tearing) his cloths, wailing and putting ashes on his head. Sad.
