Daniel is curious and asks - what time????

An angel answers - the time of the end...and adds:

9 O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end...

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

So even Jesus refers to Daniel when talking about the daily sacrifice -

Daniel 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice

then Jesus says - when this happens there shall be a great tribulation (Daniel 9 - covenant broken):

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place...

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be (Daniel 12 Michael says this also)

Clearly he is not referring to himself as an abomination - but a future event.

Remember - Jesus died on a cross, in front of many people - not in the temple.

You will not find anyone but a holy priest stand in the holy place (an enclosed structure) - until the antichrist goes in and declares he is god (Thess 2 2).
