The problem with interpreting biblical prophecies is that we have been under the spell of mystery Babylon for a long time, and “the end” will play out like most of us do not expect.
Your “teachers” were corrupted; therefore, what you learned is corrupted

We aren't given the exact date of the great tribulation - but we will know signs of the end: Matthew 24 When you see buds on a tree you know summer is close LIKEWISE When you SEE ALL these things This is the generation that will see all prophecy fulfilled: I.E. see earthquakes in diverse places. The ancients might have known about an earthquake in their region - but not on the Pacific rim.... We do see all these things - hint - smartphones, webcams, etc
