I am trying to understand the true meaning of "Driver"....
We are considered a Driver at the MVA...

But take a look at the word "Screw Driver",

The Tool, the "Screw Driver" is the Driver, not the human turning the Screw Driver.

Compare a screw "Driver" (the tool)to a vehicle, it sounds like the vehicle is the Driver.

Anyone catching on to what I'm trying to understand?

What about Minnie Driver? Does that mean she is always the one to ride/drive, or is she just a tool?

Sounds like the mechanical parts that cause rotation of the wheels are driving or the Driver (spinning of the wheels).

Sounds like the human "operating" the car, could be a passenger or a traveler.

Imagine a home made wooden go cart with no engine to 'drive' the wheels... The one pushing the go cart (forcing wheels to rotate) maybe considered the Driver.

Compared to a vehicle running out of gas, the engine can no longer 'drive' the wheels, therefore, you have to get out and push the vehicle, forcing the wheels to rotate, causing you to be the "driver".

Am I making sense?

Yes, but doesn't the human only operate what is being set in motion?

The car is moving, but the mechanical parts are the "drivers" that are 'driving' the car, while the human operates the driving parts.

Does that makes sense?

But it seems humans don't "drive" the vehicle, the mechanical parts within the vehicle drive the vehicle.

"Truck Drivers" could be referring to the axles for all we know.

As for a screw driver...your hand is turning the screw driver (or operating), but it is the screw driver that is "driving" the screw in the wood.

I'm wondering why the MVA is giving us a "Driver's" license rather than an oeprator's license or even a traveler's ID?

to drive or push (as in pushing from behind).

My previous example falls under this meaning...

If the car runs out of gas, you get out and push it from behind, you are now the driving force that replaces the mechanical parts to set the wheels spinning motion.

All I know is I never want to read the word "driver" again after reading this thread.
Out of this ugliness may come,
Some day, so beautiful a flower,
That men will wonder at that hour,
Remembering smoke and flowerless slum,
And ask-glimpsing the agony
Of the slaves who wrestle to be free-

So many paths that wind and wind,
While just the art of being kind
Is all the sad world needs.
