Quoting: Donny Boy But take a look at the word "Screw Driver", The Tool, the "Screw Driver" is the Driver, not the one turning the Screw Driver. Anyone catching on to what I'm trying to figure out? seems that the mechanical parts of a car do the driving humans operate the vehicle |

Sounds like the human "operating" the car, could be a passenger or a traveler. i wonder how "driverless" cars will work? if there is no driving going on? Imagine a home made wooden go cart with no engine to 'drive' the wheels... The one pushing the go cart (forcing wheels to rotate) maybe considered the Driver. Compared to a vehicle running out of gas, the engine can no longer 'drive' the wheels, therefore, you have to get out and push the vehicle, forcing the wheels to rotate, causing you to be the "driver". Am I making sense? Last Edited by Donny Boy on 01/04/2016 11:49 AM (Don ald, Donny boy) |

The car is moving, but the mechanical parts are the "drivers" that are 'driving' the car, while the human operates the driving parts. Does that makes sense? (Don ald, Donny boy) |

Just as they operate machinery. But it seems humans don't "drive" the vehicle, the mechanical parts within the vehicle drive the vehicle. "Truck Drivers" could be referring to the axles for all we know. As for a screw driver...your hand is turning the screw driver (or operating), but it is the screw driver that is "driving" the screw in the wood.
