Opie,

There's a support group called leaves on another site, I can't post the URL. Maybe it might help you. Googie it.

We are fishers of men. Fishermen don't bang gongs and scream to catch fish. They "wisely" bait their hooks and capture the imagination of the fish.

Good for you buddy. I quit over a year ago now after smoking for 37 years! Smoked pretty much everyday multiple times. Being a creative person it always seemed to help me get in a flow state much quicker but finally came to the realization that I don't need it since I can tap into the feeling naturally now. Sometimes I miss it when I go into the woods since I would always get stoned with mother nature. Now it just takes me a bit longer to get connected to spirit. A great side effect of not smoking is I remember all my dreams now even though some of them are very bizarre. All the feelings you get from weed or any drug already exist in your brain you just have to tap into them.
Good luck on the other side. Stay with the clarity.

dont blame your lousy draw of life on weed.

at 11 years old, where were your mother and father?

weed is a medicine, not to be "smoked" just because you saw mommy sucking off a bbc while yo daddy counted the cash.

LEAVE WEED ALONE.

"devil weed"....this isnt the 1930s buddy. no one is that ignorant anymore.

the only devil is your inability to not become addicted to a good thing. youve got other issues since it has no physical addiction at all.

Jeez people, if you would care to read any of my previous posts, you would see that I refer to it as devil weed from a novel by Steven King...

Good on you OP, I also stopped smoking this year, been smoking daily for 15 years. It is pretty easy actually, 2 days a bit uncomfortable and some night sweats but now I also finally start having those vivid dreams again or at least remember them again. I stopped smoking before and I still think IN MODERATION weed is awesome. Awesome for ideas and creativity. With daily use not so much. Your life goes on hold.

Right? My dreams are so damn vivid I'd swear thay are real events happening in real time! And being able to remember them is simply amazing.

Anything in moderation, but for me it's time to kick the devil weed!

That's not true.

I am severely physically addicted to marijuana. However, the withdrawl symptoms I face when I FUCKING CAN'T FIND ANY aren't all that serious. Hard to get to sleep, irritability in my mood. No big deal.

After 25 years of smoking, my only advice is that I don't believe the drug is meant to be consumed in really large bong hits like every 4 hours. It's meant to be smoked like once every 30 days. The high is far superior and the effect on the mind is amazing.

Smoking everyday starts to burn you out.

Don't I know it, it was this routine evey single day, wake up hit the shatter 5-6 times with the nectar collector, off to work and smoke a bowl on the way there, get there, jump in my partners truck and hit the vape pens or juju joints, every break same thing, drive home smoke a bowl, get home hit the shatter all night till I pass out , wake up and do it all over again.....
Fucking sad when I put it like that aint it?

OP thank you for responding without ego. It goes to show that you're not pushing ego/agenda.

You are using slightly persuasive language in the way of trying to convince that it was bad in your experience.

Other than cost, what negativity came of it?

I ask simply because every substance affects everyone differently. I cannot handle tobacco AT ALL and I actually don't really like most beer. These things are commonplace amongst most.

With cannabis, I've partook one way or another whether it be edible or smoked/vaporized since I was 7 years old. I'm now 23 nearly 24. That's 16 years already.

I've NEVER had a bad experience. Only bad was some of the people I had to deal with and cost.

It helps me still today to be hugely insightful. It clears away a haze of ego for me. I actually WANT to eat, draw, run, swim, write, speak amongst others, be inquisitive and even meditative.

I've astral projected from it. I've stopped dehydrating diarrhea and vomiting, HORRIBLE depression, anxiety, cured a dog of a bladder tumor shortly after losing my own... a LOT. I don't entirely attribute these to the plant, but it was there in these times to help.

hf

THIS is why I'm always curious around the negative connotations.

Think of ALMOST anything, mind body or spirit, even external of yourself and I can guarantee cannabis or hemp could help.

World oil crisis?

Hemp

Seizures, cancer, you name it...

Cannabis

People waking the hell up?

Cannabis

It GIVES me clarity.

Believe me, I'm certainly not trying to convince anyone that smoking weed is bad, only that for me, it had become more of a routine than an enjoyable experience. After 31 years of heavy use, And to put it simply, I was tired of feeling tired, tired of general anxiety associated with regular bouts of mild depression and just plain tired of hearing about it from my family.

I'm sure that at some time during the 31 years, that it gave me clarity, kept me sane, kept me calm, kept me relaxed and so on but eventually it just gave me anxiety as well as accentuating any general feelings of malaise and that especially in the morning.

Now, after two weeks, I have dreams that I can remember, can think clearly to make decisions at work that I used to agonize over, not fly off the handle for no real reason ect...

Not saying it's that way for everyone, it's just been my experience....
