Anonymous Coward User ID: 113248 United States 10/26/2006 11:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hydrate Sleep as much as you can. SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP Once you can keep something down, start small and chew slowly. Something like crackers, yogurt, small slices of apple. Move on to something light like chicken & rice or noodle soup, toast. If diarrhea AND vomiting are present at same time...and/or fever, then see a doctor. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 129807 Australia 10/26/2006 11:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you can get someone to buy you some "Sambucol" it really helps with viral flu-type yuck. A big healthfood store might have it, depending where you live. Otherwise, try hot water with the juice of a lemon and some honey added. It tastes good when you are sick, and helps alkalinize your system which helps immensely in fighting off flu. Be sure you change the air in your living space several times a day. Open all the windows for ten minutes at least, even if it's snowing outside. Get clean sheets on the bed, take a bath and put on clean pajamas, it will help you sleep. Try to rest well, whatever that takes. Some people take a tylenol and sleep like a baby...depends what your stomach can stand right now. Ginger is good for upset stomach, either a pinch of dried ginger in warm water, sipped, or a thin slice of fresh ginger chewed. Stay away from sweets other than honey. No sugar, no dairy, when you feel like you could eat, have some lightly steamed vegies (NOT broccoli or cabbage) like squash, green beans, a little potato. For breakfast, steamed sliced apple or other fresh fruit. Hot herb tea may be more tolerable than straight water, just little sips of peppermint or any herb tea that you like. Try to massage your lymph gland areas, under your arms and on the sides of your neck. If someone loves you, see if they could give you a massage, it really helps the healing process. I hope you will feel better soon. |

Some people have had it for three weeks so far... I hope you're feeling better soon! <eta> Almost the exact opposite of what you just described, AC. Very strange times we're living in...! |

Then you mentioned the stomach acid in your post, so I'm confidant about this. Your body is producing too much acid, like mine- same symptons. Two things - DIET; you need to balance your ph level, the opposite of acid is alkaline. You need veggies rich in alkaline. I use "superfoods" like milled seaweed sprinkled into a tall glass of V8, but dark green veggies, legumes, etc. and ditch acidic foods and beverages like coffee. DRUGS! (woo hoo) - Protonix, you need an acid pump inhibitor. Also, get on a multi-vitamin to take care of any vitamin and mineral defficiencies. |

It's bad!!!!! When I had it, I just felt like I was going to throw up, as did my husband, and one of my daughters. My Dad and Stepmom, on the other hand, threw up BIGTIME. But, we all had the bad headache. It is going around so bad here, in NE Oklahoma and NW Arkansas, that one of the local schools only had 50% of the people there today. My niece has had it the past two days and today she was told by a nurse over the phone that it was becoming a nationwide epidemic. Why haven't we heard about this on the news? It is really ticking me off! The bad thing about this stuff is that it doesn't go away and stay away. You will have it for a few days and then two or three weeks later, you get it again. We've been battling it for about 2 1/2 months now. Enough already! "Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God" |
