She was harassed and bullied and HE SUED her for to take away HER PROPERTY away from her that she owned long time before he came along. Of course he lost in court....but just stress, money and time in court he put her though to get his way.

Eminent Domain is Constitutional when the property is taken for a PUBLIC project, not a limo parking lot at a casino. That is a private project.

Eminent Domain is something that I morally object to, yet see as a necessary evil. I find myself relating more to Jefferson’s views, who was strongly opposed to it, but also see the ideas expressed by the author of the Fifth Amendment.

The idea of Eminent Domain is strictly communism. This notion that the government can come in and redistribute or repurpose your land for the greater good of the people, regardless of your will is repulsive to me. Just imagine if you had a factory that was producing 300 dollar phones. But then the government comes in and says “ well for the betterment of all your fellow citizens, we are going to go ahead and outfit everyone here with one of your phones.” Now this is where Just Compensation is key. Because in Commie Land, they could give you 100 dollars for every 300 dollar phone you made or even give you absolutely nothing and seize the entire operations for the State.

But Just Compensation says that you must match market price. Now just imagine that I am the governing body of our group of 20 people on this thread. Everyone here gives me 5 dollars a month and I maintain the land. So one day, we have this chance to create a super highway that would unlock unforetold economic development to our small town of 20 people. So I get the 500 dollars of everyone’s money (because remember, the government doesn’t have any money, only money it has taken from you) and I march down to see this man and offer him the market value. The only problem is, the property needed is held by a guy who just won’t budge. When asked to cooperate, he says “Fuck off! My family has owned this house for generations and there is no monetary amount that you could give me to make me change my mind.” So is it right for the entire community’s future to be held hostage by someone who is being difficult? For opportunities to be missed and property values to be diminished because somebody doesn’t think the 500 being offered is reasonable?

Again, Market Value is crucial, because if I was a corrupt statesman, I could just tell him “Hey, hold out on the first two offers. I will hike it up to 1500 and we can split the difference with both of us coming out ahead.”

So this is why I see Eminent Domain as it stands now as a necessary evil but not something I like.

It doesn't matter if you think she was stupid for holding out. It was her property. And she got to sell it when SHE wanted to.

I don't care if she was a libtard or conservative. It was hers. And Trump was wrong for trying to use the force of government to take it away from her.

I hate it when that happens. Hope you might retry. But understand if you don't. I have done this and just give up.

The casino thing was theoretical. I am all for his stance on NAFTA. Why should foreign goods flood our states when the tariffs on our goods to those same foreign states are cost prohibitive, but at what cost for this to be done? Some of these entities own the majority of our debt. What will be Trumps leverage? Right now our commons are being used as leverage.
What else is there? So stands to reason that is what Trump will use. So yeah you will still get to hunt that barren reclaimed mining site (cause China is so eco friendly).
While the NSA steps up micro-mining mega data to create biodynamic lists of who could or might be a terrorist on the merican populace. While the military industrial complex in an attempt to remain biggest and best beyond comprehension, sale arms to the same countries who foment terrorism or this or that rebel faction, thereby increasing the demand for our #1 export.
