Scully must return to her former hair color and style. Her hair is totally wrong. Thankfully Mulder shaved for this second episode, because he looked like hell on the first episode. Scully needs to get back into her FBI outfit wherein she looked more professional. I think they need to start slowing down the content because right now they have been throwing every Conspiracy and the kitchen sink out. Give us one at a time.

Right when mulder is mumbling his way through all that info for about 8 minutes it seemed like the audio was growly and his words hard to make out.
Fix the audio or get someone else to do the mumbling.
I bet that script weighed 20 pounds.
Too much words, just like on Big Bang theory.

blah blah blah mumble mumble blah!

Many people got reeeeeeally close (as the old man told Mulder) in the 1990s. Then 9/11 happened, and focus shifted.

David Duchovny is the weak link in the show unfortunately, and if it's not him sleepwalking through a scene, he's just a shitty overactor. ....

Hope the writing gets better and Duchovny can wake the fuck up.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh....and the CGI was pretty dang good for a TV show. WAY better than anything on the SciFi Channel. WAY better.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3446

Duchovny plays a burned out/washed up Mulder ... depressed, maybe a drinker ... he did it well!

I agree on the quality of visual FX, they were great.

1st episode was good lots of alien stuff but 2nd episode was crap, suddenly they are back in the x-files doing ordinary cases and no longer following the leads they had in the previous episode.

Actually, there was a connection.

The implication was that the DoD was contracting Goldman to work on genetic modification of humans using alien genetic material harvested from Roswell.

A possible link was drawn to William, Scully and Mulder's son who was adopted after he started displaying bizarre telepathic abilities and was subsequently targeted by "alien replicant" Billy Miles.

I think this episode actually tied in nicely with the first. The case they were on went cold with the disappearance of O'Malley and the death of Sveta. They'd have to move forward. This DoD project is a nifty method for creating a standalone story which may actually be a piece in the bigger puzzle.

It was alleged in the first episode that possibly everything which occurred during the original run was a smoke screen created by the military industrial complex to divert attention away from its actions. However, the alien rebels were certainly the real deal. And the virus-born aliens bent on colonization would've been extremely difficult to invent for the sole purpose of deflection. So hopefully we will see what the real alien connection is in the episodes to come.

Darin Morgan wrote one of them. And his were always my favorite episodes in the original series. Never tied into the plot but thematically brilliant. And usually hilarious.

I'm curious.

Fifteen to twenty years ago when the original X-File series was running, do you believe that you were more naive about CT's than you are today?

If so, do you sometimes miss that "innocence"?

When it started...what around 93, I was 11 so,yeah. But the great thing about being exposed to it at that age, was that I really was intrigued by the possibilty that what they were investigating could be. It helped pave my path for where I am now, in terms of CT research. That, coupled with an innate and healthy distrust of authority well, here we are.

Well it took 9 years ('93-'02) to program people for 9/11 so, the way I figure it, 6 episodes... the next false flag should be sometime next week either before or after the airing of the 3rd episode, or either right before or after the airing of the 4th episode.

imo definitely very important. Whenever I see "coincidental" stuff like this, it is something important:

1. Premiers on a full moon ... 1.24
2. Has 6 episodes
3. Broadcasted on FOX (6-6-6 in pythagorean numerology)
4. Episodes are 42 minutes long
5. 6th episode airs on 2.22 - ON A FULL MOON

For those saying Mulder seems washed up and possible alcoholic. Well he might be. In the 1st episode he seems like a case for classic depression. But keep in mind, for the past 7 or 8 years he was Hank Moody. A burnt out LA author. That was and alcholic, druggie, womanlier and had a teenage daughter. He's just stuck in the character. LOL
