Now if I talk about these things I will get even more eyerolls from the sheeple. "OMG he watches way too much x-files." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70680995 I think it is the other way around....want to spark someones imagination.....watch something that triggers it......Star Trek.....how many of those crazy ideas live in reality today.....and a few that are so seeming impossible that are being tried.....molecular transport......isn't that crazy?? The alien part is to brain wash the masses into thinking that a alien being will come and set things right for the people after our evil governments of the world destroy things. The aliens are actual demons and one will posess the Antichrist that people will accept as the savior of the world. The end is near. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69655177 United States 01/25/2016 01:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Outside of the wonky awkward porch scene between Mulder and Scully which was poorly written and horribly overacted, it was actually pretty good. Joel McHale does a very very good job of combining an Art Bell/George Noory/Glenn Beck vibe into his character. David Duchovny is the weak link in the show unfortunately, and if it's not him sleepwalking through a scene, he's just a shitty overactor. Gillian Anderson can do no wrong. I don't care if she IS a carpet muncher. I think she's beautiful. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3446 Hope the writing gets better and Duchovny can wake the fuck up. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh....and the CGI was pretty dang good for a TV show. WAY better than anything on the SciFi Channel. WAY better. Duchovny is a Yalie and part of the club. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71279894 United States 01/25/2016 02:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I read somewhere a long time ago that Chris Carter actually worked on the real X-files when he worked/works? for the government.I was always a huge fan but after David D left the series thought it descended into stupid. Loved the first film, hated the second one. I thought the premiere was excellent for the most part. David D. looked like shit, and his energy seems much darker. He also acted like he was just doing a walk-thru with his lines. The initial chemistry between he and G.A......wasn't. Other than her very tight face I thought Gillian A. was like she used to be.What is unsettling is,for them to reveal so much of what we know, they must be VERY CLOSE to the ultimate chess move, and laughing their asses off. Didn't work out too well on Mars,in Babylon or Atlantis-they can't get their binky sucking way so they take everyone down with them scenario is getting VERY OLD. Thank you nice person for posting the FOX link. |

User ID: 69542445 United States 01/25/2016 02:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Make no mistake, Carter is not a GLPer, He's is a diehard liberal (See 2 jabs at W. in the episode). He will end up making a mockery of GLP. You could see that Duchovny and Anderson had "lost" their characters. Maybe they will regain their mojo in further episodes. Overall it was just ok... It was a lot of exposition and the episode had no real plot. I know its a "mini-series" but, my understanding is there are supposed to be 4 stand alone episodes bookended by mythology episodes. My opinion kind of mirrors that of the new Star Wars. They could have done anything, and that's the best they came up with? 2.5 Stars out of 5 Last Edited by JeffersunTzu on 01/25/2016 02:51 PM "The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots." Quoting: JeffersunTzu I loved the original series - watched it when it was on back in the 90s and occasionally watch it on Netflix now. And I was SO excited waiting for this new series. And don't get me wrong, I loved last night's episode. It had that same creepy feeling as the originals, loved seeing CSM. BUT, I agree with you that the whole "it's all been a lie" thing kind of sucked when you look back at the original series. |
