He repeatedly blasphemed the commandments, claimed authority over them, compared himself/said he was a partner to the Most High etc. It also says in the Hebrew Bible that sometimes a man/prophet is sent from above to test people. If the man blasphemes against the Law while claiming to follow it and/or his prophecies are false, he should be killed. Consider the following: You give a group of people a set of laws. Some time later, you send a person to that group to test them. And the less they keep the laws, the more you praise and reward them. Does this make sense? Certainly not. Why would you give them the laws and then be upset that they keep what was commanded to them? |

(Matthew 22:41-46; Luke 20:41-44) 35And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? 36For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 37David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. 2And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 3And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. 4And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. 5And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. 6Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. 7But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. 8And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. 9What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. 10And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: 11This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? First it is significantly shorter than the other Gospels–with only 16 chapters compared to Matthew (28), Luke (24) and John (21). But more important is how Mark begins his Gospel and how he ends it. He has no account of the virgin birth of Jesus–or for that matter, any birth of Jesus at all. In fact, Joseph, husband of Mary, is never named in Mark’s Gospel at all–and Jesus is called a “son of Mary,” see my previous post on this here. But even more significant is Mark’s strange ending. He has no appearances of Jesus following the visit of the women on Easter morning to the empty tomb! Like the other three Gospels Mark recounts the visit of Mary Magdalene and her companions to the tomb of Jesus early Sunday morning. Upon arriving they find the blocking stone at the entrance of the tomb removed and a young man–notice–not an angel–tells them: “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing (Mark 16:6-8) And there the Gospel simply ends! Mark gives no accounts of anyone seeing Jesus as Matthew, Luke, and John later report. In fact, according to Mark, any future epiphanies or “sightings” of Jesus will be in the north, in Galilee, not in Jerusalem. Kisses |

I am trying to get you to understand and explain WHY you believe and WHY you think that man was the Son of G-d? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? [link to biblehub.com] The Messiah will have a Jewish (human) father from the Tribe of Joseph, specifically Ephraim, he will build the final temple, he will bring peace to all over the world and so on. JC did not fullfill any of these things, thus he must be classified as a failed messiah by this metric. And yes, I know what you are going to say - that he is going to fulfill these things LATER, during the Second Coming. But is not that a cop out? You: Jesus, prove to me that you are the Messiah. Jesus: Sure, what miracle do you want? You: Peace all over the world! Jesus: Ah, I will do it the next time I am around :) and disappears for 2000 years. |
