I'd bet dollars to donuts that a lot of real farmers in that area are losing their farms and land through one corporate/UN agenda or other. IMO These staged events serve as a distraction from them, whilst seeming to offer support in the guise of being a farmer going through the same thing. The very real plight of the genuine farmers is then completely ignored amidst the dramaramarama they create in these events. Twists and turns, cliffhangers....and of course the (faked) death.
