Wilmington, NC here....no power outage....but internet has been screwy the past day or so...more than usual.

If they don't there just might be a riot!

Shouldn't be a big deal. The hippies don't use hot water, anyway.

A friend of mine in Asheville said a big tree fell on a power line- knocked out power to 15,000. That was put out by the fire department 3 hours ago. Could a tree really take out that much? I lived in Asheville and I'm not thinking it's possible. Have you heard any more news on it?

The book "One Second After" is based in Asheville...

Perhaps it hit some kind of a junction wire where it connects to multiple directions at once? Kinda like an intersection for roads but for power lines instead.
