Carter is due to meet NATO counterparts in Brussels this coming week, along with other officials from the US-led military coalition of nations that is supposedly fighting the Daesh terror group (also known as ISIL) in Syria. Days ago Carter welcomed an announcement by a Saudi military spokesman that the Persian Gulf kingdom was prepared to send troops into Syria. The Saudi officer said that “if”the US-led coalition agreed to the move, then it would proceed with the intervention. Carter then deferred to consult with coalition partners during imminent meetings in Brussels. A report in the Britain’s Guardian newspaper quoted Saudi sources as saying that “thousands of special forces could be deployed, probably in coordination with Turkey.” if Pentagon chief Ashton Carter agrees to a Saudi plan to commit ground troops. So the USA now get to decide which countries can invade other countries. Nice. Yeah. That's how a coalition works. The country leading it has final say. Stop being so butt hurt. |

USA is the only country with a proven track record of destroying other countries. |

Watch this and tell us how many surviving ground troops there would be. Last Edited by Booger Cancer on 02/06/2016 04:51 PM Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71120506 United States 02/06/2016 04:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You guys are falling for a bluff. Saudis can't even defeat barefooted Houthi warriors in Yemen. Houthis have invaded parts of Saudi Arabia and are killing Saudi army, What's happening is a total collapse of terror groups in Syria that were funded by USA, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. And they all know it and can't do anything about it. What they're trying to do is to scare Russians into stopping their air operations. They're trying to force them to stop killing Al Nusrah (Al Qaeda) in Syria. But Russians don't give a fuck. To stop Russians, you need to take out Su-35S planes and S-400 missiles. You can't do that without suffering casualties and without starting WW3. If US were to start killing Russians in Syria, Russians would attack US carriers, which their subs are undoubtedly shadowing, and that would cause $1 trillion worth of damage in a day or two. Then there's also a nuclear option... Anyway, Saudis just talk a lot and threaten a lot. But they can't do a thing in Syria. |

They have a reasonable Air Force, but only against bombing civilians and against the S-400, any incursion into Syria will be met by Russian military power. And it's totally in line with international law. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71412533 Since when have NATO or Gulf Arab States cared about international law |

World war three will never be a declared war, if successfully provoked, one side will initiate its total first strike plans, leaving the other only seconds to respond with a full scale retaliation... It will essentially begin and END within minutes... |

The Saudis know that growing Shiite domination in the region will lead to the fall of the kingdom. They can't sit by and let that happen in Syria or Yemen, any more than they can avoid an inevitable war with Iran. These are age old conflicts, the west (NATO) and Russia would be wise to stay completely out of it. |
