I walked right through a hornet's nest on the ground in the woods one time when I was about 8 years old. They flew all up in my pants legs and stung the SHIT out of me.

It was not fun. I got probably 100 stings or more. Yet, amazingly, I did not die, I'm still here to tell the tale.

Yeh here's a farm story. While driving fence posts I felt a buzzing under my foot.
I stopped hitting the post and looked at the base to see some vicious ground hornets emerging right at the ground there. I had gone right into the underground nest. I had my foot right on top of the main hole, holding them back. What to do? I plugged the hole with the driver real fast and ran. Didn't get one sting. Gasoline next morning.

i had a friend who lived on a farm one of his nephews came out from the city for a week in the summer he said he was throwing rocks at hornets nest and running he said that i told him ,if you stand real still they wont sting you they will just buzz around you.my friend said a little while later he came to me with whelps all over him and said uncle david you lied to me you lied to me
