My mom was just diagnosed with colon cancer. Can you please take time to pray for her?

I just made a thread the other day asking for prayers because my mom was admitted into the hospital for a collapsed lung, pneumonia and internal bleeding. Well, yesterday we got the news that they found a pretty nasty, cancerous growth in her colon. They're going to be getting her into surgery very soon to try to remove as much of the cancer as possible; as well as aggressively treat the possible pneumonia, although if it doesn't clear up in a few weeks then they're going to do a biopsy of the lung because there's a possibility that she has lung cancer as well.

Nothing prepares you for something like this. I was in the truck with my 12 year old brother and my boss, Mike, heading up to go see her when she called to tell us the news. I was the first one she told and then she wanted to tell my brother who was just chomping at the bits to talk to her. When those words came out they hit me like a thousand bags of concrete mix being thrown in my lap at the same time. I tried so hard to man up and stay strong for my brother. When she told him, in a far more delicate manner, he broke down and buried his face in his hoodie and cried for about an hours worth of the whole drive there.

We rode in silence for the rest of the ride except when I told him how a pastor at one of the churches mom used to go to was diagnosed with colon cancer and actually survived it and that made him feel a little better. I encouraged him to get all the crying out now on the way so that when we got to see mom that we could both stay strong for her so she wouldn't be sad and scared. Despite the fear, the panic, the anxiety and confusion; it was a very beautiful visit. We had a lot of laughs, talked about old times, met with a lot of the nurses and the doctor and mom got to brag about her two sons coming to visit her.

The drive home was the worst. Having to leave her there. We're going back on Sunday for Saint Valentines Day but it feels so incredibly far off.
