How the International Space Station Could be Faked!!

You can see ISS in a telescope. Hell, with two telescopes aimed at it from different locations you can even triangulate its orbital height and velocity. That's a much higher standard of evidence than handwaving to things you "think" are "odd" in videos from ISS.

All I am saying is that it is possible to fake the ISS.

Don't you think with all the technology today ...that it would be possible to fake something like this?

Yes All these could be faked...not saying they are...but it is plausible.

I know from first hand experience it's not fake. I watched ISS as it was constructed in orbit over the course of multiple shuttle missions. I don't care whether it's "possible" to "fake" some of the zero g shots (though there are some that can't be sufficiently faked without going full CGI and hoping no one notices; the quarters are too close and the shots are too long). None of that matters. The fact is that it's real, it's demonstrably real.

I took some of those videos myself. It's NOT fake. I don't care whether you think it is or not, I know for myself that it isn't and I know for a fact you can go see it for yourself.

Well I did not witness any of these things...but ...What I witness and experiment today....I have questions.

Well that's not my problem. If you want to see it for yourself you're welcome to come to any one of a number of major national star parties and ask around for a satellite tracker to show you. If you attend the annual Chiefland Fall Star Party you can definitely see it in person, straight through the eyepiece of a telescope.

What you have to understand Astro....you could take all the video you want....I believe we live under a firmament. I do believe you could be recording a hologram.

Now the goalpost moves. Your beliefs are irrelevant. The evidence is all that matters. You can see ISS pass in front of the sun and form a silhouette against the sun as seen above in Legault's video. Holograms don't block light.

All I see going in front of sun is a dark blur. A spec.

Of course this could be faked.

I will find a group around here to see for myself.

Christ, and we're back to amateur astronomers all faking their footage. You can clearly see the shape of ISS in his footage. No, it's not faked. If you claim it is then man up and show up to the star party and see it for yourself in person.

Chiefland Astronomy Village, just outside Chiefland Florida. A large number of very serious amateur astronomers live there and even more travel there for the star parties.

I think you could both be right.

Maybe it is real and there in space full of real international scientist, but maybe for security reasons or reasons of national security or to keep important technology secrets away from dangerous nations we are not able to see footage of the real thing. So it could be real, and the footage faked.

Kind of like the idea that they went to the moon, but the footage was either too bad or the tech not up to sending it back so that they faked it. IE - real moon landing, but fake footage and photos, because when you tax the nation to do something as cool as going to the moon, you better have some footage to give them, so you make a back up in case the real footage does not work out.

I grew up driving through Chiefland on my way to Steinhatchee FLa where my grandmother lived...I will invest the time to make to a "star party" . Can I bring alcohol to these parties?

Oh boy. I don't see that ending well. Please, don't bring alcohol. There's no specific rule against it that I know of (but there are a number of rules and they are STRICTLY enforced [link to chieflandstarpartygroup.com] ), but personally, alcohol and VERY expensive telescopes do not mix. Personally I would not be thrilled if someone at the party got smashed and then proceeded to trip over a telescope or yank a cord out in the dark. If you're going to bring alcohol please drink in moderation.
