Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 71216354 Romania 02/25/2016 05:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In just about every country, men commit suicide more frequently than women, which is intriguing since women typically have higher rates of mental health disorders like depression. Historically, younger men were at greater risk than older ones, but this has changed in recent decades. Now, middle-aged men experience the lowest levels of well-being and the highest suicide rates. “Men currently in their mid-years are the ‘buffer’ generation – caught between the traditional silent, strong, austere masculinity of their fathers and the more progressive, open and individualistic generation of their sons. They do not know which of these ways of life and masculine cultures to follow.” Middle age is also the time when the importance of long-term life decisions is clear: Making changes can come with a big cost, both financially and personally/socially, since doing so could lead to job loss, financial uncertainty, or on the personal front, a breakdown in marriage. Feeling boxed in could seriously compromise well-being. [link to www.forbes.com] |

Women are three times as likely (than men) to attempt suicide. Note the difference? [link to afsp.org (secure)] The difference, in part, for males committing suicide more often is essentially that they are more successful at it. No joke. Men generally opt for more lethal forms of suicide (e.g., gunshot, hanging) compared to women. |

Then their long-suffering wives can enjoy some peace and tranquility without that arrogant bastard in the house expecting to be catered to and maybe, if they planned wisely, they had a good life-insurance policy on him without a suicide clause. :) |

By nightfall he hadn’t been heard from, and the following morning my mother called me at school. The police had found the van. It was parked in an office lot about a mile from the house, the engine cold. Inside, in the back, the police found my father dead, covered in blood. He had been stabbed through the heart.” Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71216354 The investigators found slash marks on his father’s wrists and a note on a yellow sticky pad by the driver’s seat. “Is this the answer?” it read, in his father’s shaky scrawl. BRIEF
User ID: 65696907 United States 02/25/2016 08:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Women are too chickenshit to off themselves, and when they try, they usually use pills and often times survive, whereas men pick up a gun and blow their brains out. Women want a man to take care of them, but a man wants to be independent and free, we have no one to take care of us, not even the government who the women go to when they can't keep a man. Last Edited by BRIEF on 02/25/2016 08:06 AM I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |
