Re: A challenge for Trump supporters - Win me back over.
...

But that's not how politics work. That's not how any of this works. I do appreciate a clear and polite mind though.

And thank you. You are correct. I do get an opinion and I'm allowed to make my own decisions. I guess I mean to ask; what is his plan to turn our country around?

What has caused the breakdown of our society and how does he plan to turn things around? Budget cuts? Repealing Obamacare? Harder stance on immigration? Rebuilding our military? Focusing on family values? I just want to learn more about him and what he stands for. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Like I said, I supported him once and seemed to have lost my way. So get me back on track. What am I missing?
 Quoting: Rubatosis

Well, I guess that would depend on why you lost your way. People do not just "fall" out of these things. So why did you?

If, and I hope you and everyone else is, taking the time to study the candidates one by one, then you come up with your own answers why or why not to support someone.

So you want unbridled invasion? Do you want America to fail?

Do you believe in supporting PP with tax dollars?

Do you want continued employment that provides a living wage?

Do you want the FED auditied?

Do you want the 28 pages released, and America finally get down to the bottom of 9/11?

Do you favor the Establishment/UniParty?

Do you believe Hillary or Bernie would be a better choice for President?

Are you against taking care of our Vets?

Do you want ObamaCare to continue?

Do you favor continued tax loophles?

Do you want a continued trade deficit?

Do you want America to go down the tubes?

If you can answer no to each of these, or even the largest majority, then you must ask yourself WHO PROPOSES these things.

^^^ THIS is how you remind someone what the real goals are! Thank you bodiless! I am not trying to stir shit up. I just want to hear the opinions of others that may have more knowledge than I do in certain subjects. Experts if you will. I just want see things from a different perspective. Nothing wrong with learning. I can google shit all day long but that doesn't mean any of it is true.

To those of you saying I am unable to see your side, I do see it. I actually agree with a lot of it. But something along the way, something I stumbled upon in my own research has made me start questioning things and wanting to dig deeper.

If you have something positive to say about Trump, I am totally up to hearing it. A lot of you HAVE and have reminded me why I liked him in the first place! Just don't make it personal. That's where you start to lose me. I respect your decisions and opinions and just want to hear what makes you like HIM. Not why you disapprove of the others.
 Quoting: Rubatosis

ah, i see, so you cant even name the thing that made you slide away from trump. What makes you think anyone here, or anywhere else for that matter, could convince you back to trump?
 Quoting: Cptn Hindsight

She seems like the type who would be swayed against Trump by watching a Trevor Noah video. She clearly has no knowledge of the candidates. She probably only supported Trump to begin with because she saw him on TV.....

trump scares the hell out of me. I am a farmer and we are dependent on Hispanic labor force there is not enough americans in the area with a 4% unemployment rate in my area. I also don't trust the government to set up a guest worker program which I would prefer that would be ran well. Also americans have become where they don't want to work milking cows and the ones that try it are so damn lazy or want to be on the phone all day.
I also fear tariffs put on goods from China and Mexico will cause the things we like to buy to go up because the tariff will basically turn into a tax passed on to the consumer. Also if we get in a trade war and damage the economy of china and us. It could turn into a a new recession or even a depression. Agricultural products now are so reliant on world trade especially to China it could seriously hurt us financially and then the trade balance with China will actually get worse.
Just my thoughts and fears. Eight years ago we elected someone with a slogan and said nothing and to me we are doing the same thing now

If you would tell us specifically what made you slide away from Trump, then we could address that point.

You've been coy so far.
 Quoting: Booger Cancer

Totally fair question! I suppose it is his short temper and the name calling. From him and those who support him. I am afraid he will hurt us on a world stage. His entire campaign and persona is to throw a fit and threaten anyone who disagrees with him. He wants the other candidates to be fully exposed while his own documentation provides an air of mystery. It's hypocritical and I would respect him even more if he just released it to prove his naysayers wrong. To tell us all to "suck it" because his documents are in order and there is nothing to scandalize.

He went so hard on Cruz's eligibility that it turned into an issue in 6 states. Why can't he just flaunt those papers in front of the others and say "I'm right you know" now release yours if you have nothing to hide!?

On the other hand, I think it's wonderful and I am grateful that he is a man that stands up to criticism in such a bold manner. That is truly leadership. Something I can respect. But when it comes to national security and freedom of speech I find that his supporters try to silence anyone that disagrees with him.

In conclusion, it's not Trump that lost my vote, but the behavior of a small faction of his supporters that gang up on me whenever I question one single point.

Do I agree with Trump on the issues? Not always, but for the most part? Yes, yes I do.

From the handling of immigrants, his stance against Islam, national debt, relationship in regards to Russia, fuck yeah I agree. It's not him, but those who refuse to listen to the other side of arguments. Or spew angry words and insults to those who disagree.

Not hopeless. Just hopeful that Trump sticks to his word.

I completely agree that our education system is totally fucked. Even Rubio wants to get rid of the common core. But I have to agree with the AC that says Trump was born with a silver spoon. He got a huge inhertitance.

Real Americans are just grateful they have enough to pay for funeral expenses at all. Which is an issue that NEEDS to be changed.

It's not as though the farmer enjoys employing the illegals, but it's his only option to maintain relevance and a certain way of life. It's his solution to small business in a world where big business reigns on top.

Our gov't has made sure that minimum wage keeps us millennials "equal" and that makes field work seem undesirable. But we all have to eat right?

No small business games? You don't eat or shop at the grocery store. It's a catch 22 and a difficult task to balance the world no matter which side of politics you sit on.

You are dependent on illegal labor because you don't want to pay a wage that will attract legal workers. Legal Americans would milk cows for a wage that was commensurate with the work required, but it seems that farmers think they should be able to hire help on the cheap.

I live in farm country, know what I am talking about and see it first hand every day. The Dairies are the worst offenders when it comes to cheap illegal labor, and are the most Federally subsidized entity I have ever seen. Supply and demand does not even figure into the equation with dairies since the federal government will step in and subsidize the over production.

As for China and tariffs; I have to compete with cheap Chinese slave labor goods and it is hard as hell. I have quoted jobs and lost to China and found out later that the cost of the finished job from China was less than just the cost of the raw materials before I would have even started the machining on them.

Cry me a river, Mr. Federally subsidized farmer.

And this is where I start to lose all respect for Trump because his supporters all seem to act like this.

You are a traitor. Trump and his people don't like traitors.

Not a traitor. I'm a damn conspiracy theorist and I want cold hard facts. I don't need you to like me but you need people to like him. Sell me on HIM without making it personal. I don't care what your opinion of me is. Tell me WHY he is any better than any previous President. I refuse to make this a bullying game. I won't attack you personally so don't attack me or any else personally.

Talk to me with facts. If you can't defend your position then don't bother to comment.

I saw you posting last night.. you are one of the true free thinkers left on the site... most of the startards left here are pretty mainstream in their thinking.. and their insults they throw out show the caliber of their character and how hollow their support for Trump actually is.

Trump is no savior, he will be a dictator just like most of our recent presidents have been. Or an elected king might be a better way to describe the situation we are in. Everyone talks about the constitution, but really nobody cares about it.
